Are sit-ups OK for kids?

It is good for people's health to do exercise regularly. Children can also do appropriate exercise even though they are young. Exercise can improve the body's immunity, resistance, etc., and people who exercise regularly will not have blood diseases. Because many people nowadays don’t have time to exercise, this is a bad phenomenon. But children are a very active group, so is it okay for children to just do sit-ups?

Benefits of sit-ups for children

1. The effect of sit-ups is more closely related to losing belly fat, because many people now know that practicing sit-ups can help lose belly fat.

2. Sit-ups are a way to develop trunk muscle strength and extensibility. They can exercise the abdominal muscles very well. Tightening the abdominal muscles can better protect the internal organs in the abdominal cavity.

3. From the perspective of sports, you should insist on whole-body exercise. Running is the best whole-body exercise. This simple exercise can play a role in exercising the body.

Precautions for children to do sit-ups

1. Gradually increase the number of times

For a participant who has just started to train abdominal muscles with sit-ups, the principle is to do no more than 10 sit-ups each time (train your abdominal muscle strength first). After completing each sit-up, you should stand up or lie down to rest and allow your abdominal muscles to relax for more than 10 minutes.

2. Go slowly

The main training goal is the endurance of the abdominal muscles. Therefore, only by slowly performing sit-ups can the endurance of the abdominal muscles be effectively trained.

3. The movements should be standard

If sit-ups are performed with the upper body in the sagittal plane (sitting with shoulders parallel), the training effect of the external and internal oblique muscles will be significantly limited. Only by adding rotation of the body's longitudinal axis (right shoulder girdle to the left leg and left shoulder girdle to the right leg) can the incoordination of abdominal muscle training be avoided.

After reading this article, I believe that parents and children can clearly understand the benefits of children doing sit-ups. Children are in the most vigorous period of development, and doing more sit-ups is helpful for their development. However, you must also pay attention to safety during the process to avoid hurting your body, and parents need to assist.
