Characteristics of children's growth and development

We all know that before adulthood our bodies are in the development stage, so parents need to pay special attention. Children's growth and development have many characteristics. We cannot judge based on general development conditions. There are also many unexpected events in the development process. Next, we will analyze the characteristics of children's growth and development in detail for everyone, so that children can grow up healthily.

Human growth and development is a continuous process, sometimes faster and sometimes slower. In terms of physique, the younger the age, the faster the growth rate. Growth and development are fastest within the first six months after birth, slow down after six months, and then speed up again during puberty.

During growth and development, the development of various functions progresses from low to high, from simple to complex. For example, when taking things with hands, babies aged 4 to 5 months old use their whole hands to grab, and then gradually use the thumb and index finger to pinch small objects. The motor functions of the entire body develop in the order of "head to toe". First the baby will lift his head, then hold his chest out, sit alone, then stand, and finally walk.

During the development of children, various organs and systems develop unbalancedly. The brain grows and develops quickly at first and then slowly. The weight of the brain at 7 to 8 years old is close to that of an adult. The development of the genitals is slow at first but then accelerates. It is not obvious during early childhood but accelerates significantly during puberty. Subcutaneous fat increases rapidly during infancy, then slows down, and becomes slightly faster during puberty, which is more obvious in girls.

The standards for the development proportions of various parts of the body from the fetal period to adulthood are not absolute. There are differences between individuals. As long as they are roughly within the normal standard range, it is fine. During the growth and development process of children, the functions and morphologies of various systems and organs are constantly improving, forming different characteristics of each age group.

The above content is an introduction to the characteristics of children's growth and development. Children's physical condition is relatively fragile and they lack resistance to many diseases. Therefore, during the child's development, we must pay attention to their diet and life to reduce the chance of developing certain serious diseases and create a good environment for the child's growth.
