Some sudden symptoms of a child's body may cause some tension to parents. For example, the condition we are going to introduce next is communicating hydrocele in children. Once this condition occurs, surgical treatment is required. If the operation is not performed in time, it will endanger some physical health. So what should we do? How is a communicating hydrocele formed? Communicating hydrocele, also known as congenital hydrocele, is caused by the failure of the processus vaginalis of the spermatic cord to close after birth, resulting in the communication between the fluid in the abdominal cavity and the fluid in the hydrocele sac, causing the hydrocele to become larger or smaller. If there are many channels connecting the processus vaginalis and the peritoneal cavity, congenital inguinal hernia can be formed. The mass of communicating hydrocele will shrink after repeated squeezing, and hydrocele may be accompanied by indirect hernia. Diagnosis of communicating hydrocele The formation and anatomical relationship of communicating hydrocele and inguinal hernia are the same. However, the diagnosis varies due to the different contents of the hernia sac. If a mass is seen protruding rapidly along the inguinal canal when the patient is standing, and sometimes an intestinal shape or bowel sounds can be seen, then it is a hernia. During examination, the intestine can be felt. The spermatic cord is thick at the outer ring. In cases of communicating hydrocele, the scrotum gradually enlarges, there is no obvious mass protruding from the inguinal canal, and the spermatic cord is not enlarged. When doing the transillumination test, it is important to note that the baby's intestines are thin; even though it is a hernia, the transillumination will still be positive. A careful examination is required and puncture should not be performed rashly to avoid accidental injury to the intestine. To identify whether it is hydrocele, check whether the spermatic cord at the upper end of the mass is enlarged. If it is large and the mass is connected to the abdominal cavity, it is a hernia. If it is not thick, it may be a hydrocele. In testicular hydrocele, the mass occupies the entire scrotum on one side. Can no longer touch the testicles. In addition to the hernial contents, the testicles can also be felt in a hernia. When a child suffers from pediatric communicating hydrocele, the first thing to do is to give the child a detailed examination and treatment. Many parents worry that the surgery will have a certain impact on the child's body, so in the early stages, you can choose to use Chinese medicine to regulate the child. |
