Newborn baby care methods

Newborn baby care methods

After the baby is born, many parents, as they are still young parents, do not know how to take care of their children. Some symptoms that appear in the child's body also make the parents always at a loss as to how to take care of the child. So in the following article, let us learn about the methods of caring for newborn babies.

The color of your baby's stool

The color of the baby's poop can be used to observe whether the baby is healthy. The following are methods to distinguish baby poop.

10">Normal poop

Abnormal stool

Meconium

The excrement one to two days after birth is very black in color, asphalt-like in shape, and almost odorless.

Green poop

Light green is normal, but if your baby drinks milk and his stool is dark green, you should pay special attention.

Drinking breast milk

If the baby is breastfed, the stool will be light yellow or green in color, ointment-like or watery in shape, with a sweet and sour smell, and sometimes mixed with particles or mucus.

White poop

If jaundice occurs after birth, it is a liver problem. If the stool is like rice water and the baby vomits, seek medical attention immediately.

Drink milk

If your baby drinks cow's milk, the stool may be yellow, gray, or light green in color.

Watery stool

If your baby is breastfed and has odorless stools, there is no need to worry, but if the baby has excessive watery stools or has a foul odor, it is caused by indigestion.

Mixed Drink

If your baby is fed with both breast milk and cow's milk, the color of his stool will be yellow, yellow-green or gray.

Black poop

If the meconium is within 2-3 days after birth, there is no need to worry. However, if the feces excreted afterwards is still black, it is bleeding in the digestive organs and you should pay attention.

Bloody stool

If there is a small amount of blood in the stool, it may be that the baby's anus is fissured. If there is a large amount of sticky blood, it may be "intussusception". You should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

Baby's sleep and tranquility

The baby almost always sleeps after birth, waking up and crying every two or three hours. After feeding and changing diapers, he wakes up and falls asleep again.

Sleep is very important for babies. This is because the fetus obtains oxygen through the umbilical cord when in the mother's womb. However, after the first cry after birth, the baby must switch to breathing with the lungs. The position of the heart and blood vessels also changes. A large-scale transformation is taking place in the baby's tiny body. Therefore, in order for the transformation in the baby's body to proceed smoothly, it is important to let the baby sleep quietly. Do not hug the baby or talk to the baby when the baby is sleeping.

Prepare a warm and comfortable crib for your baby, provide him with a tight and solid atmosphere similar to that inside the placenta, wrap him tightly with a quilt, or rock him gently, which have a soothing effect and can help him sleep better. As for the baby's sleeping position, you can let the baby sleep on his back or on his stomach.

Umbilical cord care

The baby's umbilical cord will naturally dry up, turn black and fall off within a week after birth. Before it falls off, the umbilical cord must be kept clean. A few babies will grow red granulation tissue due to improper handling and poor skin healing. So after the baby is bathed, use a cotton swab dipped in betadine, wipe from the inside to the outside, and then wipe with cotton dipped in 75% alcohol. Also, try to keep the umbilical cord dry and avoid contact with diapers.

It allows us to understand the care of newborn babies. First of all, we need to clean the baby regularly every day, especially with the arrival of summer, when children are most likely to get eczema and infection. We must pay attention to the hygiene of the child.
