Symptoms of lobar pneumonia in children

Symptoms of lobar pneumonia in children

Summer is here, and as the weather continues to get hotter, parents should be alert to lobar pneumonia. This period is when children are most susceptible to infection with pathogens, which can easily cause lobar pneumonia. Therefore, many children develop lobar pneumonia due to respiratory tract infections. No one will run to the hospital just because they feel a little uncomfortable, which is why more and more people are suffering from this disease and doctors in hospitals are treating it more and more frequently.

Lobar pneumonia is mainly caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. The lesions involve lung tissue in more than one lung segment and are acute inflammation characterized by diffuse fibrin exudation in the alveoli. The lesions begin in local alveoli and quickly spread to a lung segment or an entire lobe. Clinically, the onset is acute, often starting with high fever and chills, followed by chest pain, cough, rust-colored sputum, difficulty breathing, signs of pulmonary consolidation and increased peripheral blood white blood cell count. The course of the disease is about one week, the body temperature drops sharply, and the symptoms disappear. The disease mostly occurs in young and middle-aged men. Common causes of the disease include cold, fatigue or rain, etc.

prevention

1. Pay attention to preventing upper respiratory tract infections and strengthen cold-resistant exercises.

2. Avoid getting caught in the rain, catching cold, being drunk, overwork and other inducements.

3. Actively treat primary diseases, such as chronic heart and lung diseases, chronic hepatitis, diabetes and oral diseases, to prevent lobar pneumonia.

When the two seasons alternate, the temperature difference is relatively large, and the temperature fluctuates. Parents often don’t know how to dress their babies, and the temperature rises and falls from time to time, making it easy for children at home to suffer from lobar pneumonia. When children get sick, parents are at a loss as to what to do. It is even more painful for children with poor immunity. Some children recover from an illness today, but may suffer from lobar pneumonia in a few days. Pediatric pneumonia can occur at any time and is increasing year by year, especially this year. Parents need to be vigilant.
