Baby confinement care

Baby confinement care

Newborn babies are the pride of this world, and their bodies are extremely delicate in every aspect. Every baby is a treasure in the hands of his parents, and any small problem will make his parents anxious. Reasonable feeding of newborn babies can promote their faster growth and development and effectively avoid the incidence of newborn diseases. The following is a detailed introduction to feeding newborn babies:

1. The nutritional value of colostrum is high. The lysozyme content in each milliliter of colostrum on the first day after delivery can reach 609-1279 micrograms. Domestic research data show that the lysozyme content in postpartum colostrum is 429 to 254 times that of fresh milk, which shows the importance of early breastfeeding. In addition, breast milk also contains a large amount of immunoglobulin A

And other immune substances.

2. Breast milk promotes the excretion of meconium and reduces neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. The meconium of newborns contains a large amount of toxic bilirubin, 50% of which can be reabsorbed into the blood. Early breastfeeding can promote intestinal peristalsis and expel meconium as soon as possible. According to expert surveys, newborns who are fed less than 8 times in 24 hours have an average bilirubin level of 9.2 mg per 100 ml of blood, while those who are fed more than 8 times have an average level of about 6.5 mg.

3. Promote weight gain in newborns. A survey shows that children who are fed more milk can gain 560 grams in weight 15 days after birth, while those who are fed less often can only gain 347 grams.

4. Reduce the redness and swelling of mother's nipples. The sucking of the newborn can mechanically massage the nipples, which can reduce the swelling of the breasts and improve blood circulation after sucking. It has been proven that mothers who breastfeed frequently have a significantly lower rate of nipple redness and swelling than those who breastfeed less frequently.

Therefore, experts advocate that mothers who have given birth normally can start breastfeeding one hour after delivery. If the feeding time is short, the interval can be shorter, and vice versa. There is no need to emphasize a fixed feeding time. To insist on breastfeeding, it is important to do three early things (early milk initiation, early contact, and early sucking).

Newborn babies need special attention not only in feeding, but also in other aspects, such as indoor temperature and light, care of the five senses, sleeping posture, and clothes and diapers that are in close contact with the baby. In addition, do not shake the baby excessively when holding him because of happiness, so as to avoid discomfort to the baby.
