Symptoms and prevention of gastrointestinal cold in babies

The so-called "cold" is a general term for physical discomfort, while "gastrointestinal cold" refers to gastrointestinal discomfort. The most common causes of gastrointestinal cold in infants and young children are viral infections and allergic reactions to food. After bacteria and viruses implant in the throat and cause inflammation, they will be swallowed into the stomach and intestines along with saliva, causing gastrointestinal discomfort. Let’s look at the symptoms of gastrointestinal cold in babies.

The symptoms of gastrointestinal cold in babies are as follows:

1. Vomiting: Pathogens or other toxic substances enter the stomach, causing the stomach muscles to contract and expel the stomach contents from the body.

2. Diarrhea: It is mainly caused by irritation of the intestines, which leads to a large increase in secretions, affecting the absorption function, causing excessive water in the intestinal cavity, and increased intestinal peristalsis, so the stools discharged are all loose stools.

3. Abdominal pain: The pain is felt because the intestinal peristalsis is twice as fast as normal, or the mucosa on the intestinal wall becomes red, swollen and painful due to inflammation. Although the redness and swelling are not severe, the pain can be felt.

Prevention of gastrointestinal cold in babies:

1. Do not eat unclean fruits and vegetables

Melons and fruits need to be watered, fertilized, and sprayed with pesticides during their growth period. They are easily infected by bacteria during the process of collecting, transporting, and selling, so that the skin of many fruits and vegetables carries bacteria, insect eggs, and chemical pesticides. Therefore, melons and fruits must be rinsed repeatedly with clean water several times before eating. All fruits and vegetables that can be peeled should be peeled before eating, otherwise pesticide accumulation and poisoning may occur.

2. Avoid eating spicy food

For irritating foods such as cold and spicy foods, you should choose according to your personal conditions, original eating habits and seasons, avoid overeating, and especially avoid drinking alcohol.

3. Wash your hands frequently, pay attention to tableware hygiene, and keep raw and cooked food separate.

4Babies’ gastrointestinal colds are related to the mother’s diet and are also caused by the child catching a little cold.

The mother should eat hotter food, and the child should be given Huoxiang Zhengqi Pills for treatment. She should also use Hutong and Jianwei Xiaoshi tablets to keep the abdomen warm. Also, pay attention to providing your baby with comprehensive nutrition and improving your baby's immunity. In addition to breast milk and formula milk, you can also try giving your baby colostrum, such as Life Sunshine Colostrum, which can promote growth and development and improve IQ.
