What to do if children have Eustachian tube inflammation

Every year, many children suffer from hearing loss due to Eustachian tube inflammation, and may even live in a silent world forever if they are not careful. Eustachian tube inflammation is very common in children. The main symptoms are hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear pain, which bring a lot of pain to children. Especially children cannot express their feelings clearly, so the treatment of the disease is often delayed. Eustachianitis in children has a huge impact on children. So what should parents do about this disease?

The Eustachian tube is also called the Eustachian tube. It is a tube connecting the middle ear cavity and the pharynx. Inflammation of the Eustachian tube refers to the congestion and edema of the mucous membrane in the tube, which can easily cause blockage of the Eustachian tube, causing the air pressure in the middle ear cavity to drop, and the tympanic membrane is attracted by the negative pressure and collapses, losing its mobility, so hearing is also affected at any time.

Common treatment methods for Eustachian tube inflammation: Anti-inflammation - use antibiotics, such as levofloxacin, etc.; eliminate mucosal edema, use ephedrine nasal drops, and tighten the nasopharyngeal mucosa.

Use anti-tissue edema drugs such as fexofenadine, or even dexamethasone as much as possible. The course of this disease is relatively long, and children usually need more than two weeks.

1. Actively treat nasopharyngeal diseases to prevent bacteria from entering the middle ear and causing fetal inflammation.

2. Do not blow your nose forcefully or rinse your nasal cavity casually. Do not close both nostrils at the same time. You should blow your nose crosswise on one side.

3. When digging out earwax from the bottom, you should be very careful and moisten it first to avoid damaging the eardrum.

4. After swimming ashore, tilt your head and hop on one foot to let the water in your ear flow out. It is best to use a cotton swab to absorb the moisture.

5. Pay attention to rest during the acute phase and keep the nasal cavity unobstructed.

6. People suffering from chronic otitis media should not swim.

7. Strengthen physical exercise, increase rest quality and reduce colds.

8. Avoid spicy foods, such as ginger, pepper, wine, mutton, chili, etc.

9. Do not take hot tonic medicines, such as ginseng, cinnamon, aconite, deer antler, bull whip, and tonic paste.

10. Eat more fresh vegetables that have the effect of clearing heat and reducing inflammation, such as celery, loofah, eggplant, shepherd's purse, basil, cucumber, bitter gourd, etc.

11. If a small insect enters the ear canal, do not be impatient and try to catch it forcefully. Instead, drop some cooking oil into the ear to kill the insect and then catch it.

The above are the causes and treatments of Eustachian tube inflammation in children. Therefore, in daily life, parents must urge their children to participate in more sports to enhance their physical fitness, balance their nutrition, eat more fruits and vegetables, and do not be picky about food. When children say that they are not feeling well, they must take the children to a regular hospital for examination in time to avoid delaying the disease and causing irreparable mistakes.
