What to do if your newborn baby has tears in his eyes

The care for newborns must be comprehensive. Many parents are rather casual in their care of newborns. Newborn babies have poor immunity. If they are not cared for at this time, they are likely to develop diseases. Moreover, if the disease is not discovered in time, it will also bring sequelae to the baby. So what should we do if the newborn's eyes are tearing? This is something many parents don't know.

What to do if your newborn baby has tears in his eyes:

Generally speaking, if parents find that their baby's eyes are tearing or having pus, they should go to the hospital for timely treatment in any case, because the baby's tears are not simply caused by tear duct obstruction. There are many reasons, and they should ask a doctor to determine whether the tear duct is blocked. After the doctor's confirmation, parents can first take conservative treatment and do some massage for the baby at home. There are two methods of massage. The first one, if there is purulent secretion in the baby's eyes, parents can press the baby's nose root and the center of the inner canthus of the eye with the pads of ten fingers, and squeeze the pus towards the eye. At this time, you will find that some pus flows out of the baby's eye corners. Parents can wipe it clean for the baby and apply some medicine after finishing.

There is another technique at the same position, pressing down with a certain force, hoping to break open the membrane of the nasolacrimal duct through pressing. At home, it is generally enough to do it three to four times a day. Press two or three times each time. If there is pus, wipe the eyes after pressing, and repeat the above steps until there is no pus and then apply medicine.

After understanding what to do if a newborn's eyes are tearing up, if a newborn has such a condition, a physical examination should be conducted first so that you have some understanding of the eye problem. And when choosing drug treatment, parents must choose the treatment method according to the doctor's advice so that it will not affect the baby's body. Parents should pay attention to this.
