What are the signs that a newborn is full?

Many parents do not understand what kind of situation indicates that the newborn is full, which makes many mothers who are feeding their babies very distressed. In fact, when the newborn is full, there will be some phenomena. Therefore, we can observe these phenomena of the baby to understand whether he is full, so that we can decide your feeding time and feeding amount.

(1) Observe the baby’s emotions: If the baby is not full, he or she will often show symptoms such as crying, irritability, sucking fingers or foreign objects, etc. He longs for his mother's embrace and is more focused and rapid when feeding.

(2) Observe urination and defecation: Babies who are breastfed generally defecate 3-4 times a day; babies who are fed milk usually defecate about 2 times a day. The defecation is golden yellow and mushy. If your baby is not full, he will have fewer bowel movements. Babies usually urinate more than 6 times a day, and their urine is light yellow or colorless. If the baby only eats breast milk, does not add any other complementary foods, and is not fed water or other beverages, and urinates six times a day (wet diapers six times), it means that the amount of milk consumed is sufficient. If the baby is still crying, there must be another reason.

(3) Observe the baby’s weight gain: Measure the baby’s weight regularly and observe the baby’s weight gain to determine whether the amount of milk is sufficient. Generally, babies should be weighed once a month or two. A healthy baby should gain 500-1000 grams per month. If your baby does not gain weight sufficiently, it may be because he is not drinking enough milk or is sick. You should carefully look for the cause and take him to the hospital for examination if necessary.

Babies are still young, so they cannot express any emotions with words, but there are still some physical characteristics that can be conveyed to adults. Therefore, parents should mainly observe their babies so that you can understand the baby’s physical health and the various issues that should be paid attention to in diet.
