Why doesn’t my baby sleep well?

In daily life, we often find that some babies become more irritable and weird at night, and are very difficult to coax before going to bed. But even after finally coaxing the baby to sleep, he will wake up soon and cry incessantly. So what is the reason why the baby cannot sleep well?

Physiological factors: Since the nervous system of infants and young children is not yet fully developed, the excitation and inhibition functions of the nerves are not coordinated enough, and they are easily excited. Any slight external stimulation may cause excitement of the nervous system and cause the baby to wake up. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. As the baby grows up, the function of the nervous system gradually improves, and this physiological phenomenon will naturally disappear.

Overeating: As the saying goes, "If the stomach is not in good condition, you cannot sleep well." Some mothers always give their children snacks before bedtime regardless of whether their children are hungry or not, which makes the children feel uncomfortable and affects their sleep quality. Especially for breastfeeding babies, some mothers are accustomed to breastfeeding and accompanying their babies to sleep. As a result, the children eat too much milk while sleeping, have abdominal distension and wake up easily. After waking up, the young mothers immediately use milk to comfort them, resulting in a vicious circle.

Disease factors: Intestinal parasitic diseases in children are the most common cause of unstable sleep in young children. For example, parasitic diseases can cause indigestion and malnutrition in children, and they may also develop symptoms such as anemia and irritability. Children with early rickets often sleep and wake up easily.

Environmental factors: When children are sleeping, the indoor light is too strong, family members watching TV and talking and laughing loudly will disturb the normal sleep of the children and easily wake them up; children are prone to kicking off the quilt at night, or the quilt is too thick and heavy, which will cause the child to be too cold or too hot when sleeping, causing the child to be irritable and restless, and move their hands and feet around, which is also a common cause of waking up easily during sleep.

From the above introduction, parents should pay attention, because the baby's poor sleep may be closely related to the baby's physical health. For example, when the baby is unwell, his temper will become strange, and it will be more difficult to fall asleep and sleep soundly.
