What are the causes of muscular dystrophy in children?

I believe everyone knows about muscular atrophy and it is very common. Now this disease has become more and more common in children, and it is attracting more and more attention from all mothers. I believe that in addition to wanting to know the treatment methods for muscular atrophy in children, many people must also be interested in its causes. Let me share with you the causes of muscular atrophy in children.

Modern clinical practice believes that there are two main types. One is due to lack of exercise or little exercise, which leads to little muscle contraction and thus degeneration. The other is due to malnutrition, which causes the breakdown of muscle tissue protein and causes atrophy.

There are two main reasons for the first type. One is that the muscles rest in bed for a long time after injury and do not have proper contraction exercises; the other is that nerve damage causes the muscles to be unable to contract.

The second cause is generally insufficient nutritional intake or unbalanced nutritional structure, resulting in insufficient protein supply to the body, causing atrophy.

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, the occurrence of this disease is mostly caused by spleen and kidney deficiency or insufficient vital energy. The pathogenesis is based on deficiency of vital energy, spleen, kidney, liver, and insufficient qi and blood. The disease initially affects the spleen and then damages the liver and kidneys. It is often triggered by the six evils, fatigue, and emotions. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the spleen is the foundation of acquired constitution, the source of Qi and blood, and it nourishes the internal organs, muscles, tendons and bones, and the spleen controls the muscles. If the spleen and stomach are weak, Qi and blood will be insufficient, and the muscles will not be nourished and become ill. The kidney is the foundation of the innate constitution, it stores essence and produces bone marrow. If the innate constitution is insufficient, the essence and blood will be deficient and cannot nourish the muscles, tendons and bones, and muscle weakness and atrophy will gradually appear. The liver stores blood, controls the tendons, and controls the whole body's movement, and "the liver and kidneys have the same origin." Therefore, we advocate that deficiency of spleen, kidney and liver is the root cause of this syndrome.

Through my above analysis of the causes of muscular atrophy in children, I believe that everyone has a certain degree of new understanding of this. In addition to receiving regular treatment for any disease, health care is also very important. It is also necessary to pay attention to the child’s diet and sufficient nutrients on a daily basis. I hope my answer is helpful to you and I wish you good health.
