As for newborns, we all know that they are very fragile and their organs are not fully developed. Therefore, we must pay close attention to the feeding of the baby. Knowing the amount of feeding for the baby is a basic lesson that almost every parent who has just become a parent must understand. The baby's feeding needs to be judged in stages. Let us learn about the feeding knowledge of newborns in different stages. 1. The first few days after the baby is born The amount of milk can be calculated per kilogram of the baby's body weight, 100-200 ml per day. Because milk is not easy to digest, it needs to be diluted with water. The ratio can be 4:1, 3:1, 3:2, 2:1, 1:1, and 5%-8% sugar can be added. Feed every 3-3.5 hours, 7-8 times a day. If the baby weighs 3 kg, then 3×100 (120) ml = 300 (360) ml of milk is needed. After adding water, the total amount is divided by the number of meals to get the amount of milk used for each meal. If two parts of milk are mixed with one part of water, it will be 300 (360) ml of milk + 150 (160) ml of water, with a total of 450-480 ml. Divide it into 7-8 doses, with each dose being 60-70 ml. Add 5% sugar to the milk, and increase this proportion at five and six months. 2. Baby 15 days to one month old If the digestion is normal, you can eat pure milk, nearly 100-150 ml per kilogram of body weight, and about 60-100 ml per meal. 3. From one month to two months The amount of milk should be gradually increased according to body weight. Feed 6-7 times a day, with an interval of 3.5-4 hours between each feeding. Each feeding should be about 80-120 ml. You can take up to 150 ml. 4. Infants 2 to 3 months old Feed 5-6 times a day, once every four hours, and each time feed 150-200 ml of milk. 5. Infants 3 to 6 months Feed 5 times a day, once every four hours. The amount of milk per feeding is: 150-200 ml for 3-5 months, 200-250 ml for 5-6 months. The total amount of milk intake should be controlled, not exceeding 1000 ml per day, and the amount of milk per feeding should not exceed 250 ml. Start feeding complementary foods before breastfeeding at four months. 6. Babies 6 to 9 months Feed the baby every four hours, 200-250 ml each time. Change from four meals of milk to three meals a day, and gradually add complementary foods starting from replacing half a meal to one meal of milk. The amount of sugar in the diet gradually decreases. 7. Infants 9 to 12 months Reduce the amount of milk from three meals a day to two meals, 250 ml each time, and still eat once every four hours, and eat complementary foods for the other meals. Give water between every two feedings The above article has introduced to us how to control the feeding amount of newborns at different ages. We hope that parents can have some control over the amount of milk powder their babies eat after understanding this. Here we would also like to remind you that when making milk powder for your baby, the water temperature should be controlled at 40-60℃, so as not to destroy the nutrients in the milk powder. I hope this helps you as a new parent. |
