Secret recipes for preventing and treating common diseases in children

Here are some secret recipes for preventing and treating common childhood diseases. Children are tender, like flower buds that have not yet bloomed. They are delicate and fragile and need meticulous care from adults. Next, I will introduce to you some secret recipes for preventing and treating common childhood diseases.

1. Fever in children

Children's internal organs are delicate and cannot tolerate cold or heat. In addition, children's intelligence is not fully developed, and they often do not know how to resist cold, avoid heat, and are excessively hungry. Therefore, whether it is internal injuries or external infections, they often interact with each other, and the evil turns into heat, leading to fever.

1. Gegen decoction for treating fever in children

[Prescription] 10-15 grams of Pueraria root, 3-6 grams of Ephedra, 6-10 grams of cinnamon twig, 6-10 grams of peony root, 3 dates, 9 grams of ginger, and 3 grams of licorice.

[Preparation and Usage] Decoction in water, 1 dose per day, divided into two doses.

[Efficacy] Dr. Chen Juxian, an old Chinese medicine doctor, used this prescription to treat 110 cases of fever in children with satisfactory results.

[Verification] Mr. Li, 11 years old, had fever for 1 week, with body temperature fluctuating between 38℃ -39℃. Symptoms include chills and fever, body pain without sweating, cough and sputum (the sputum is clear, thin and white), abdominal distension, poor appetite, dry stool, pale tongue with greasy white coating, and tight and slippery pulse. Use Ge Gen Tang as the main prescription, supplemented with 10 grams each of Shen Qu, Pinellia ternata, Tangerine peel, and Magnolia officinalis, and take 1 dose. That night, he was sweating all over his body. The next morning, he had a bowel movement, which was large and smelly. His body temperature dropped to 36.5 ℃.

[Remarks] This is for children aged 1-7 years old. The dosage can be increased or decreased according to age. If accompanied by lung cough or gastrointestinal symptoms, use Erchen Decoction or Pingwei San as an adjuvant.

2. Rugao Decoction for the Treatment of Summer High Fever in Children

[Prescription] 3 grams of Elsholtzia ciliata, 30 grams of gypsum (crushed and decocted first).

[Preparation and Usage] Decoction in water.

[Effects] Effective in treating high fever in children.

[Verification] Yao xx, female, 4 years old, first diagnosed on August 5, 1953. The child caught a cold while cooling off at night, and had a high fever and irritability the next morning. He was injected with penicillin and compound ankibiline, but his temperature did not go down, so he came to see a doctor. During the diagnosis, the patient had high fever without sweating, slight aversion to wind and cold, thirst, flushed face, irritability, red tongue with thin yellow fur, and a floating and rapid pulse. Body temperature is 40.2℃. Blood test: white blood cell count 4500/cubic millimeter, neutrophils 50%, lymphocytes 42%. This is because in midsummer, the heat is accumulated inside the body and is blocked by cold. Give 2 doses of Rugao Decoction. After one dose, the whole body began to sweat slightly, the fever gradually subsided, and the mood became stable. After 2 doses of medicine, the body temperature returned to normal.

3. Large dose of gypsum for treating high fever in children

[Prescription] 100-150 grams of gypsum.

[Preparation and Usage] Decoction in water.

[Efficacy] 40 cases were treated with this method. The dosage of gypsum exceeded 150 grams in 9 cases and was less than 150 grams in 31 cases. All 40 cases achieved satisfactory antipyretic effects after taking the medicine.

[Verification] The author applied this method in clinical practice to treat 30 cases of high fever in children, and it was effective every time.

[Remarks] If the body temperature is above 39°C and the patient has high fever, sweating and thirst, a large dose of gypsum should be used. High fever and sweating are the main indicators; if only high fever is seen but no sweating, it is not included in this case.

4. Da Chaihu Tang for treating high fever in children

[Prescription] 101g each of Bupleurum, Scutellaria, Pinellia, Citrus aurantium, and White Peony Root, 6g of Rhubarb, 3 jujubes, and 3 slices of ginger.

[Preparation and Usage] Add rhubarb after the first dose. If the child has diarrhea 1-2 times after taking the medicine, rhubarb can be decocted in the second dose; if the child's fever subsides, rhubarb can be removed. For children under 5 years old, reduce the dose by half.

[Efficacy] This prescription was used to treat 3 cases of high fever in children, all of whom had received adequate antibiotics and antipyretics but were ineffective and were then turned to traditional Chinese medicine for treatment. There were 21 males and 18 females, aged 2-12 years old. The highest body temperature was 40.5 ℃ and the lowest was 38 ℃. The longest course of the disease was 34 days and the shortest was 3 days. 17 cases had fever reduction after the first dose, 14 cases had fever reduction after 2 doses, 6 cases had fever reduction after 3-6 doses, and 2 cases had no effect on medication due to pneumonia in the right lower lung.
