Symptoms of language delay

Symptoms of language delay

We all know that language is an important means of communication between people. Parents all over the world hope to hear their children call us dad and mom. However, if our children have language barriers, their pronunciation will be affected. As they grow older and the external environment continues to improve, the situation may worsen, which will cause great harm to our babies. So what are the symptoms of delayed language development? Please see the introduction below.

If there is a language barrier, it will not only affect our communication, but also make our children feel inferior, which will lead to more serious obstacles. Therefore, in order to allow children to have a happy childhood like children of the same age, we must seek timely treatment when symptoms of language barriers appear, and try to get rid of this situation as soon as possible.

Of course, not every child's language development is static. This has a lot to do with their parents' education and the language environment they live in. However, parents should be alert if their children have the following conditions:

1) At 6-7 months, the baby utters very few words and has brief eye contact with people;

2) At 9-10 months old, the baby still does not recognize family members and cannot imitate waving goodbye or clapping to welcome;

3) After the age of 1, the child still has no meaningful pronunciation and will not actively call for mom and dad;

4) A 1.5-year-old child cannot understand the language of adults. If you ask him where his eyes and nose are, he cannot point them out, and cannot follow your simple instructions, such as taking shoes, etc.

5) At the age of 3-4, the child still has obvious slurred or unfluent speech (i.e. stuttering), which has affected his communication with other people; the child has acquired normal language but has lost language function after certain diseases (such as encephalitis, brain trauma), etc.

This is the end of the explanation about the manifestations of delayed language development. In fact, language barriers can cause great harm to us, preventing children from experiencing the fun of their peers, and even causing children to be afraid to speak normally. So in order to get away from such situations as soon as possible, parents must treat this phenomenon correctly and be prepared for timely treatment.
