Parents should pay attention to the prevention of anemia in children

Anemia is very common in life, especially in children. There are many causes of anemia. Therefore, parents must help their children prevent anemia in children. So, how to prevent anemia in children in life? Here we will introduce you to the relevant preventive measures.

1. Promote breastfeeding

Because the bioavailability and absorption rate of iron in breast milk are higher than those in cow's milk, iron-containing complementary foods such as egg yolk, liver paste, minced meat, soy flour, and boiled vegetable leaves should be added after 4 months; for children fed with cow's milk, iron should be added 2-3 months in advance. The daily iron requirement for children is 10-15 mg, and for adolescent girls it is 20 mg per day. When the iron content in the food provided daily does not meet this requirement, it should be obtained from iron supplements.

2. Master scientific feeding skills

The food provided must be considered in light of the child's age, digestive function and other characteristics. The nutrients should be complete, the quantity and proportion should be appropriate, and the food should not be too refined, too sugary, too greasy, too strongly seasoned or irritating. The varieties should be diversified, the nutrients should not be destroyed during cooking, and the color, aroma and taste should be good to increase children's appetite. This is one of the preventive measures for anemia in children.

3. Pay attention to cooking methods to improve iron absorption rate

The combination of fruits and vegetables can increase the absorption rate of iron in plant foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain a lot of vitamin C, which can also increase the absorption of iron. For example, stir-frying black fungus with minced meat can increase the iron absorption rate of black fungus; roasting tomatoes, minced meat, and tofu together, and making sour soup with pig blood, tofu and vinegar, the blood and vinegar both increase the iron absorption rate in tofu.

The above is an introduction to the prevention of anemia in children. I hope everyone will take active preventive measures.
