Speaking of heatstroke, I believe many people have had this or similar experiences in the hot summer. Heatstroke has a great impact on a person. Usually when heatstroke occurs, the head will be extremely painful, and in many cases there will be nausea and retching. In severe cases, dizziness will occur. Moreover, heatstroke is possible for most people, and children are no exception. So, what should we do if children have heatstroke? This is a question that many parents want to know, because in real life, many children like to run outside in the summer and bask in the sun. This is also the most common reason why many children are prone to heatstroke. Based on this, let’s talk about what to do if children get heatstroke. 1. Maintain airway patency. 2. Give some caffeine-free refreshing drinks every ten to fifteen minutes, but do not give to those who are vomiting. 3. Move the baby to a cool place, remove clothes, and use fans and air conditioners to lower the ambient temperature. The whole body can be wiped with a warm, wet towel (tap water can be used; do not replace it with alcohol or ice water), or put into a cool (not cold) bathtub, so that the body temperature (rectal temperature) can drop to 39 degrees Celsius. Do not let the body temperature drop too low. Never use ice water or ice cubes, because super-cold water will cause the blood vessels in the skin to contract extremely, blocking the blood flow to the skin and making it impossible to continue to dissipate heat. People suffering from heatstroke should not be given general antipyretic drugs, because the mechanism of their antipyretic effect (lowering the setting of the temperature center) is actually harmful to the body. 4. Seek medical treatment immediately. Comatose patients are prone to lung infections and bedsores, and require intensive care; provide necessary calories and nutrients to promote recovery, keep the airway open, and give oxygen; actively correct water and electrolyte disorders, and maintain acid-base balance; the rate of fluid replacement should not be too fast to avoid triggering heart failure, and if heart failure occurs, give fast-acting digitalis preparations; use pressor drugs to correct shock; and use mannitol dehydration to prevent and treat cerebral edema. Hormones have certain effects in treating pulmonary edema, cerebral edema, etc., but excessive dosage can easily lead to infection, and corresponding treatment measures should be taken for various complications. In fact, there are many treatments for heatstroke in children in this society, and the four methods mentioned in the above article are actually just a small part of the many methods for treating heatstroke in children. However, these methods are still very effective in treating children's heatstroke, so in the future, our parents can use the above methods to treat children's heatstroke.
