Baby always hiccups

Baby always hiccups

Many mothers have found that when the baby is not well taken care of, the baby will hiccup. Sometimes the hiccups will stop after a while, but sometimes some measures need to be taken to stop the baby from hiccuping. Although it is normal for babies to hiccup all the time, if the hiccups last for a long time, it will make the mother a little worried. So, how do you stop your baby from hiccuping?

The usual cause of hiccups in babies is catching a cold. For example, if the baby accidentally gets a cold in the stomach, hiccups may occur easily. At this time, the mother only needs to give the baby a few sips of milk to effectively stop the hiccups. In other words, the reasons for baby's hiccups are different, and the methods to stop them are also different.

Causes of hiccups:

1. It usually happens after drinking milk. It may be caused by the baby crying frequently or eating too quickly during feeding, which causes a large amount of air to enter.

2. Sometimes hiccups can also occur when the stomach is cold or you eat raw or cold food.

3. Other less common causes are related to gastroesophageal reflux disease and diseases such as pneumonia, or to adverse reactions to drugs.

Tips to stop hiccups:

1. When your baby hiccups, you can hold the baby up, give him some warm water, and then gently pat his back.

2. Pick up the baby, then gently tickle the baby's mouth or ears with your hands. The baby will cry and the hiccups will generally disappear.

3. Pick up the baby to stimulate the soles of his feet, causing him to cry and stopping the sudden contraction of the diaphragm.

4. Do not feed your baby when he is too hungry or crying very hard. This is also one of the measures to prevent your baby from hiccups.

5. You can divert your baby's attention by giving him toys, telling him stories, etc. to reduce the frequency of hiccups.

In order to avoid the baby from burping all the time, it is recommended that mothers pay attention to adopting the correct posture when feeding the baby. Also, when the baby is very hungry, mothers should not feed the baby too hastily or too quickly. They should let the baby drink slowly, which can greatly reduce the occurrence of hiccups.
