What is the cause of the child's thigh pain?

If your child shows symptoms of thigh pain, you should pay more attention to it, because this situation may be caused by many medical reasons, so you must find the cause before further treatment, so that the symptoms can be improved and avoid further aggravation. Moreover, this may be a disease caused by neuritis in your body.

It should be differentiated from lateral thigh pain: there are two situations, one is lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis, and the other is lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome.

Lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis is also known as paresthesia meralgia. The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is derived from the 2nd to 3rd lumbar nerves, passes through the lateral edge of the psoas major muscle, obliquely passes through the iliacus muscle, along the pelvis through the deep surface of the inguinal ligament, and passes through the lata fascia 10 cm below the anterior superior iliac spine to the thigh skin. During the course of this nerve, if the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is affected by compression, trauma, or other reasons, lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis may occur. It is more common in obese young and middle-aged men. Lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh entrapment syndrome refers to nerve dysfunction caused by compression of the nerve due to some pressure factors along its route.

Lumbar disc herniation is one of the common causes of low back and leg pain. The lower limb pain caused by lumbar disc herniation often radiates along the distribution area of the nerve roots. Lower limb pain may occur simultaneously with pain in the front of the waist. Most cases are unilateral lower limb pain, while a few are bilateral lower limb pain or pain that occurs alternately. The pain spreads from the buttocks through the posterior and lateral thigh to the lower leg or foot.

The onset of lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis varies, but most cases are unilateral. The main symptoms are various abnormal sensations on the outside of the thigh, such as crawling sensation, numbness, pain, etc. This paresthesia often worsens when the patient walks or moves. If the symptoms are severe, the above abnormal sensations will persist and will be more obvious at night, often affecting the patient's sleep quality.

Lumbar disc herniation: This symptom occurs due to nerve compression. If it is not diagnosed and treated in time, the pain will become more and more severe as the compression becomes more severe, and may eventually affect walking and may cause lower limb atrophy.

Another reason is local inflammation in the thigh, such as swollen lymph nodes, which, if severe, can also affect limb function.
