Three month old baby diarrhea with blood

Three month old baby diarrhea with blood

The gastrointestinal system of a baby is in a stage of continuous development and improvement, so during this period, in addition to using milk powder or breast milk, parents should try to avoid feeding the baby other foods. Because the baby's gastrointestinal system is very fragile, it is easy to be infected by bacteria, which can cause dysentery. But why does a three-month-old baby have blood in his stool when he has dysentery?

For children with dysentery, parents should always monitor their baby's diarrhea, observe their baby's stool, and see if they have other complications, such as fever, nausea, or blood in the stool. If the baby has started to have blood in the stool, the baby needs to be sent to the hospital immediately and treated according to the doctor's orders.

There are several types of poop for babies with dysentery. If there is blood in the stool, you should go to the hospital immediately for a check-up: The first type: watery, without pus or blood. What does the poop of a baby with dysentery look like? Mild dysentery is the lightest type of baby disease. The baby has 2 to 4 bowel movements a day. The stool is watery or pasty, without pus or blood, and is sometimes mixed with mucus. The abdominal pain is relieved after defecation, and most of them do not have a fever or only have a low fever. Because the symptoms are atypical, it is often misdiagnosed as common enteritis.

The second situation: starting with loose stools, then blood and pus in the stool. This situation is the most typical. The baby's stool starts with loose stools, then blood and pus in the stool appear. Because the intestinal mucosa has ulcers and necrosis at this time, there is an obvious feeling of falling. This situation will be accompanied by fever and vomiting. There may be no abdominal pain at first. It is often misdiagnosed as a severe cold at the beginning. After a few hours, paroxysmal abdominal pain and diarrhea begin to appear.

The third situation: The stool is bloody and pus, and the frequency of bowel movements is more than 20 times. What does the baby's poop with dysentery look like? This situation is severe dysentery. Severe dysentery has an acute onset and high fever. The frequency of bowel movements can reach 20-30 times a day. The stool is bloody and pus-like, the amount is small, the abdominal pain is severe, and the stool is heavy.

The fourth situation: There is no pus or blood in the stool, and systemic symptoms are obvious. The fourth situation is toxic dysentery, which is more common in children aged 2 to 7 years old. The onset is acute, with high fever, convulsions, coma, shock, respiratory failure, etc. Symptoms of systemic poisoning are obvious, and intestinal symptoms usually appear within 24 to 36 hours. This type of condition is more serious and the baby's stool will not contain pus or blood.

Dysentery is a disease that causes great harm to our body. I hope that patients can realize this and not ignore it. Once discovered, treatment should be sought in time without delay.
