The child keeps moving his hands and feet while sleeping

Parents will definitely find a problem about their children. Some children are not well behaved when they sleep. It is abnormal to keep moving your hands and feet. Because normal children are quiet when they sleep and don't move their hands or feet. The child's physical characteristics need to be checked and if there are any problems they need to be addressed promptly. So what is the reason why children keep moving their hands and feet when they sleep?

1. Reasons why babies keep moving their hands and feet after falling asleep

1. Physiological factors

Because the baby's nervous system is not fully developed, the excitation and inhibition functions of the nerves are not coordinated enough, and the baby is easily excited. Any slight external stimulation may cause excitement of the nervous system and cause the baby to wake up. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. As the child grows up, the functions of the nervous system will gradually improve and this physiological phenomenon will naturally disappear.

2. Playing too much before bed

One reason why your baby may not sleep well may be that he plays too much during the day or plays too many games before bedtime. This keeps the baby's brain nerves in an excited state.

Also, if the baby hears or sees thrilling stories or TV scenes, it will make it difficult for the baby to fall asleep. Even if the baby falls asleep, these thrilling scenes will appear in the dream, which will wake the baby up from the dream.

Before your baby goes to bed, do some activities that help him fall asleep, tell fairy tales, or listen to some soft music instead of excessive activities or listening to thrilling stories.

3. Overeating

Some mothers always give their children snacks before bedtime regardless of whether they are hungry or not. This makes the child feel uncomfortable and affects the quality of sleep; especially for breastfeeding babies, some mothers are accustomed to feeding their babies while they fall asleep, which results in the child eating too much milk while sleeping, and waking up easily due to abdominal distension. After the baby wakes up, the young mother immediately uses milk to comfort him, which creates a vicious cycle.

Or if the baby doesn’t eat enough and is hungry, he will cry non-stop. Feed your newborn baby on demand. Don't feed him too much at once, and don't let him go hungry.

4. You may be calcium deficient

If a mother finds that her baby wakes up easily, she should first rule out pathological causes. Mothers can check whether their babies have occipital baldness, a condition in which their babies lose hair at the back of their heads, and also observe how their babies sweat while sleeping. If they find that their babies sweat particularly heavily, they should pay attention, as their babies may be calcium deficient.

There are two possibilities for pillow baldness. One is that the baby's hair falls off due to the pillow when he sleeps, which is less likely. The second is calcium deficiency. Babies are in a period of rapid growth before 6 months old and require a relatively large amount of calcium. Take your baby outside to bask in the sun more often. If you are still worried, you can take your child to the hospital for relevant examinations.
