Five benefits of having a dad take care of your kids

Five benefits of having a dad take care of your kids

1. Cultivate children's sense of responsibility

German psychoanalysts have found that many children of drug addicts lack fatherly love, and their fathers disappear or rarely appear during their childhood. Fathers often play the role of "responsibility bearers" in the family. Once children have too little contact with their fathers and there is no father at home to serve as a "responsible" role model, it will be difficult for the children to develop decisive, restrained, responsible and problem-solving personalities, leading to negative behaviors such as avoiding problems.

2. Emotionally stable and more independent

Studies have found that children raised by fathers are not only more willing to take responsibility and have stronger opinions, but are also more tolerant and open-minded, think more rationally and logically, and are more independent than children raised by mothers. All of these are necessary conditions for future career success and the pursuit of their ideal life. This is because most men adopt a "free-range" approach when raising children. Even if the child gets food all over himself, the father will not scold him for it. If the child wants to try to swing on the swing, the father will most likely encourage him instead of "nagging" about safety issues like the mother. The father's tolerance gave the child the hint that "go for it, dad is here for you, you deserve to try the whole world", which affirmed the child's "independence".

3. Cultivate good interpersonal relationships

In child psychological counseling, many of the children who come for consultation are withdrawn, weak, and have poor interpersonal relationships with their classmates. Most of these are related to the fact that their fathers have not been involved in family education for a long time. Some of their fathers work in other places, some rarely visit their children after divorce, and some are in high positions and leave early and come back late every day, so they may not see their children for a week. When raising children, mothers tend to be gentle, caring and meticulous. As children grow up, they are unable to acquire the rough, aggressive and extroverted qualities from their fathers, and naturally appear introverted and weak when getting along with classmates and friends.

4. Strengthen gender identity

Scientists have found that girls who grow up with single mothers often refuse to be mothers or wives when they grow up, and their satisfaction with marital life is lower than that of their peers. Boys who lack fatherly love are more likely to have "feminine" tendencies in their personalities. Therefore, father's companionship has an impact on children's gender identity and marital relationships. For girls, they need to learn what men are like through their fathers so that they will not be easily deceived or bullied when developing future relationships between the two sexes. Boys need to learn from their fathers what it means to be a man so as to help them maintain a stable marriage and family relationship in the future.

5. Develop a habit of loving exercise

Children who have a good relationship with their fathers also have better athletic and coordination skills. You can look at the female fans and girls playing basketball around you. Do they all have a father who loves this kind of sport? Dad can be said to be the child’s first physical education teacher. Many children’s sports concepts and habits are inherited from their fathers.

Therefore, during the children's growth process, no matter how busy or tired the father is, he must spend at least 8 hours a week with his children. If you cannot be there in person, you can make up for it by phone, video chat, etc. In families where fatherly love is lacking, uncles, grandfathers and other men need to spend as much time as possible with the children to make up for the impact on the children's growth.
