How to clean your baby's ears

How to clean your baby's ears

The ear is a relatively fragile part of the human body. The ear is mainly composed of the eardrum, eardrum and other parts. Once any part is damaged by external factors, it is very likely to cause symptoms such as deafness and hearing impairment. Therefore, it is very necessary to pay attention to ear health. Children's bodies are more fragile than adults', so you should be extra careful when cleaning their ears. So how should you clean your baby's ears?

1. How to clean your baby's ears

1. Master the depth

Mothers can wet a clean towel and wring it dry, roll a corner of the towel around their fingers, and gently wipe the baby's external ear. You can also choose large-headed cotton swabs specially made for babies on the market. The cotton balls are soft and strong, and the fibers are not loose, which is suitable for cleaning your baby's ears. However, mothers must not insert the cotton swab into the invisible places inside the baby's ear. They only need to carefully clean the area around the external auditory canal that can be seen by the naked eye.

2. Use light force

When cleaning your baby's ear canal, be sure to use gentle force! This is very important because the skin on the baby's ears is very delicate and can be easily injured if you are not careful. Never use sharp objects such as nails, iron sticks, hairpins, etc. to clean your baby's ears.

3. Ask a professional doctor to treat

In addition, if the mother does not have skilled techniques and cannot control the strength of cleaning, it is recommended to take the baby to the hospital and let a specialized doctor use professional cleaning tools, which is safer. For the baby's health, mothers must not be careless.

2. Reasons why children under 10 years old are not suitable for ear cleaning

1. The skin of children's ear canal is fragile and can easily be scratched by foreign substances and cause infection.

2. When the skin of a child's ear canal is stimulated, it will automatically secrete oily and sticky substances such as "earwax", which will cause more and more to be secreted.

3. Children may move suddenly when picking their ears, which may cause puncture injuries.

3. The correct way to care for your child’s ears

1. You can use a damp towel or cotton swab (children's cotton swab) to wipe the auricle, but do not go deep into the ear hole, so that the child can also enjoy the process very comfortably.

2. Prevent water from entering children's ears when they are bathing, washing their face, or playing. When bathing, you can protect your child's ears with both hands, or wear waterproof ear covers. If water gets into the ear, you can use a cotton swab to rotate it in the ear hole to absorb the earwax, but remember not to go deep into the ear hole. Also, keep the child's head fixed and do not move it around.
