In our lives, many newborns often cry after they are born. Most mothers will first check whether the baby has urinated or is hungry when the baby cries. After excluding these two factors, if the baby is still not well after coaxing for a while, mothers will think that the baby may be sick and take the baby to the hospital for examination. So why do newborns cry all day and don’t sleep? Newborns crying and not sleeping is related to the following factors: 1. Imperfect central nervous system development The central nervous system of newborns is still underdeveloped, and the conditioned reflexes of waking during the day and sleeping at night have not yet been established. If the child sleeps for a long time during the day, he will not want to fall asleep at night and will cry unless his parents coax him or hold him. 2. Parents are not sensitive to their baby at night In addition, parents are physically and mentally exhausted after a day of hard work, so they are naturally not as sensitive to the baby's hunger, urination and defecation as they are during the day. If not handled in time, the baby will cry again and naturally will not be able to sleep. 3. Baby calcium deficiency Babies who are calcium deficient are also prone to crying. Due to calcium deficiency in the body, the baby is easily frightened, especially on a quiet night, the slightest movement will wake the baby up. Babies with chronic diseases such as tuberculosis and malnutrition often cry at night, and parents should pay attention to this situation. 4. Baby: I am thirsty and hungry and I want to cry Hunger is the most common reason why newborns cry. The younger the baby, the more likely it is that he is crying because he is hungry. However, the first one or two days after the baby is born is an exception, because some babies do eat less at that time. If you are breastfeeding, you may be more aware of it when you start to produce small amounts of colostrum and notice yourself "coming in" around the third day after delivery. Babies have small stomachs and can't eat too much. If your baby is crying, try feeding him because he is probably hungry. He may not stop crying immediately, but as long as he wants to eat, let him keep eating. When he is full, he will stop making a fuss. If your baby still cries after being full, it may be because he has other needs. 5. Baby: I need to cry when I need to change clothes and diapers Babies tend to get very sensitive and fuss if their clothes are too tight or their diapers are dirty. Some babies will let you know right away if they need a diaper change, especially if their skin is irritated. But there are also babies who don’t seem to care if their diapers are dirty, and they even feel warm and comfortable. No matter which type your baby has, it's easy to check whether the diaper is dirty. You can also take this opportunity to find out if the diaper is too tight or if your baby's clothes make him feel uncomfortable. |
