Newborn baby's bulging belly

Newborn baby's bulging belly

In life, many children have bulging bellies. Most mothers think that a bulging belly means that the child is full. In fact, it is probably due to bloating caused by indigestion. When a newborn has bloating, he will definitely cry blindly. At this time, mothers should rub the baby's belly appropriately to let the gas in the baby's stomach out. So what should you do if the newborn has a bulging belly?

1. The baby's development is immature.

Generally, newborn babies have a bulging belly, which is normal. As your baby grows, your tummy will become flatter. Because the baby's abdominal wall muscles are not yet fully developed and the baby has the same number of organs as an adult, it looks bulging. The baby's body is round from front to back, which visually makes the belly look bulging.

2. Bloating.

Babies are more prone to bloating than adults because their digestive systems are immature, so bloating is more common. For example, the baby is in a hurry when feeding, or the size of the nipple is not suitable. Also, because babies cry a lot, gas may enter their bodies and cause bloating. However, if the baby has bloating, mothers should not be anxious. If the baby is normal, and the belly feels soft and does not look listless, then there is no problem. Mothers can use clockwise massage postures to help babies expel gas.

3. Constipation.

After giving birth, the best way to monitor your baby's health is to observe his or her poop. Although this seems disgusting before giving birth, after giving birth, I will especially like to observe the baby's bowel movements and never get tired of it. When the baby is constipated, mothers will be very worried, thinking that the baby has poor digestion. Sometimes it may be because the mother has eaten some high-protein food or the baby has a bad stomach, resulting in a lot of gas and causing constipation.

4. Food intake.

Mothers should also pay more attention to their baby's diet. Because if you eat the wrong food, it is very easy to cause bloating. Foods high in oil and protein are not suitable for babies, such as peanuts, soybeans, etc.; foods high in crude fiber can also cause bloating in babies, such as sweet potatoes and some whole grain biscuits. Therefore, it is best to feed your baby some easily digestible food, so that the baby's bloating will be reduced and the belly will not look so bloated.
