How tall is a 10-year-old child?

Children's growth and development is a very slow process. Girls develop earlier than boys, but girls usually stop growing at around 18 years old, while boys have to wait until around 22 years old to stop growing. When faced with their children being too short, many parents feel very worried, fearing that their children are not getting enough nutrition. So how tall are ten-year-old children generally?

Height and weight of 10-year-old child

1. Male height = height at birth (cm) ÷ 0.2949; Female height = height at birth (cm) ÷ 0.3109. Please note when using this formula: it is only applicable to normal full-term newborns; if the height data can be measured accurately to 0.1 cm, the height prediction will be more accurate.

2. Male height = height at 3 years old × 0.545 + average height of parents × 0.544 + 37.69 (cm); Female height = height at 3 years old × 0.545 + average height of parents × 0.544 + 25.63 (cm), standard height prediction formula (genetic law)

Male height = (father's height + mother's height) × 1.08 ÷ 2 (cm)

Female height = (father's height × 0.923 + mother's height) ÷ 2 (cm)

The above formula generally conforms to the genetic principle of "tall plus tall produces tall, tall plus dwarf produces tall, dwarf plus dwarf produces short".

2. Bone age and age are not the same thing. Bone age is biological age, which is closely related to growth and is often used to evaluate the maturity of human growth and development. During the adolescent growth spurt, height increases very rapidly. The main reason for growing taller is bone development. Boys can grow an average of 7 to 9 cm taller each year, and up to 10 to 12 cm taller each year. On average, girls can grow 5 to 7 cm taller each year, and up to 8 to 10 cm taller.
