Parenting knowledge for children aged 0 to 6 months

How to raise a newborn baby? This is a topic that many parents are concerned about. Since many people are first-time parents, they don’t know how to educate their children. They are always worried and even read a lot of books in the hope of helping themselves. However, the more books I read, the more anxious I became, and I didn’t know how to choose the best method that would be most beneficial to my child’s development. So, how should babies aged 0-6 months be educated?

1. Use old sheets as diapers. We have this custom in our hometown, where we tear up old sheets or old clothes to make diapers for babies, and they are also said to be disinfected after washing and drying in the sun. However, there must be a lot of bacteria in old clothes because they have been worn for a long time, and the baby's skin is very delicate and can be easily invaded by bacteria. Therefore, if parents do not use diapers, it is best to use some new, sterilized diapers.

2. Believe that babies must be coaxed by their parents to fall asleep. Many parents think that their babies are still young, so every time the baby wants to sleep, they will coax the baby to sleep in order to help the baby fall asleep. But few people know that there are actually many little tricks that can help babies fall asleep slowly on their own. The specific method is: parents can gently tickle the baby's buns or feet beside the bed until the baby lazily squints his eyes, and the baby will soon fall asleep. During those few seconds when the baby is half asleep and half awake, he no longer needs to rely on external comfort to fall asleep again, which is conducive to the baby's good sleep at night in the future.

3. It is believed that it is not good for babies to sleep on their backs as their heads will become flat. It is recommended that babies sleep on their backs to prevent sudden death in sleep. If they sleep on their stomachs, they are too young to turn over by themselves, and they have no ability to move independently when they are asleep, so it is easy to cause suffocation. Generally speaking, the reason why the baby's head is too flat is basically because the baby is inside the womb.

The compression received or caused by compression during birth will basically return to normal within 6 weeks. Of course, the baby's skull is indeed relatively soft. If the baby sleeps in the same position for a long time, it will definitely affect the shape of the baby's head. Therefore, do not sleep on your back for too long. You can adjust to sleeping on your side appropriately. However, it is recommended to sleep on your back. Also, if parents are very concerned about the baby's head shape, they can try to hold the baby alternately with their left and right hands. Also, when the baby is awake, try to let the baby play on his or her stomach, but it must be under the supervision of the parents.

4. We make the baby put on gloves because we are afraid that the baby may scratch himself in his sleep. Because babies are too young, they cannot control their fuss when they fall asleep, so many babies will scratch their faces, so some parents put gloves on their babies. In fact, it is completely unnecessary to do so, because newborns also need to trim their nails, so once the baby grows up, you can help trim his nails. Also, the baby should be swaddled to sleep as soon as he is born, and the baby's hands can be fixed when sleeping to prevent the baby from scratching himself in his sleep.

5. Because the baby's legs are M-shaped, we need to bind the baby's legs to correct it. Many places now no longer have the habit of binding babies' legs, but you can still see this kind of thing in the news occasionally. What the editor wants to say here is that you must never bind your baby's legs, because babies' legs are basically M-shaped and will slowly grow straight. If you force your baby to bind his legs, it may cause a fracture in the baby's hip joint.

6. Let your baby learn to stand too early. Many parents like to help their babies stand by holding their hands when they are a few months old. However, normally babies start learning to stand and walk around one year old. If the baby does not stand spontaneously with the help of objects in advance, it is best not to help the baby in advance and let the baby develop on his own. Some parents also believe that using a walker can help the baby walk faster. In fact, this is also a wrong view, because the walker not only does not help the baby walk, it may even affect the baby's muscle growth and make the baby walk later.
