What to do if your child's tooth is broken

What to do if your child's tooth is broken

It is common for children to be naughty and play around. If they are not careful, they may fall to the ground and break their teeth. In addition, eating cold or hot food will cause the roots of the teeth to loosen. In fact, when children have broken teeth, what we need to pay attention to is treatment, and we also need to preserve the teeth and let them grow out again.

Steps/Methods:

1. Now my teeth hurt when exposed to wind, which means that the broken tooth has reached the dental nerve, so this symptom occurs. Because we came in time, the dental nerve can be preserved. This is very important. Preserve the dental nerve!

We also took an X-ray to see if the root of the tooth was broken. After checking, we found that it was not broken, which is good news.

2. Perform a pulpotomy on the broken tooth to preserve the living root pulp of the tooth, then cap the pulp with calcium hydroxide and observe for four weeks!

The tooth was hit and the periodontal tissue was damaged. Now the tooth is a little loose, but the looseness is not obvious, so it does not need to be fixed. However, the periodontal tissue is damaged, so do not let your child use this tooth to eat within 4 weeks. Let this tooth have enough rest and the periodontal tissue recover!

3. Because the tooth was just hit today, don’t eat anything too hot or too cold today and tomorrow, so as not to irritate the nerve of the injured tooth!

4. When you return for a follow-up visit 4 weeks later, you need to check whether the dental nerve at the root of the tooth is active and whether necrosis has occurred. So be sure to follow your doctor's orders and go for follow-up visits on time.

If it is active, it is the best! In this way, you can temporarily use materials such as light-curing resin to repair it!

5. Of course, this is not very beautiful, but you have to wait until the child is about 18 years old, then use porcelain teeth for permanent repair and restore beauty.

Note:

If you hit your tooth, see a doctor as soon as possible and try to save the tooth! On the basis of saving the tooth, try to preserve the living dental pulp, that is, the dental nerve.
