What is Down's syndrome?

Every child is an angel sent down to earth by God, and every parent hopes that their child is healthy and beautiful. However, in recent years, due to various reasons, there are more and more children with Down syndrome, and this disease is incurable, so many originally happy families have been crushed. Children with Down syndrome are born dull, suffer from leukemia or heart disease, and develop slowly. So what are real Down syndrome children like?

1. Down syndrome

Down syndrome is the product of Down syndrome. Most children with Down syndrome have severe intellectual disabilities and lower intelligence than normal people, so Down syndrome is also called congenital idiocy. It is also accompanied by other physical problems. Nearly half of the patients also have complex congenital heart disease, severe internal organ malformations, leukemia and other diseases. Normal people have only two chromosomes 21, while patients with Down syndrome have three chromosomes 21, one more than normal people. It is a chromosomal disease, so Down syndrome is also called trisomy 21 syndrome. People with Down syndrome are almost unable to take care of themselves, have a short lifespan, and their average survival age is not high.

2. Appearance and facial features

The most obvious special facial features of Down syndrome patients are their facial features. The eyes are wide apart; the nose is flat with the outer corners of the eyes tilted upwards; the ears are smaller than normal; the tongue is short and enlarged and cannot be completely retracted into the mouth, so they drool constantly;

3. Appearance, body and facial features

The hair is loose and sparse; the back of the head is flat, and the entire head is smaller and shorter than that of a normal person; the neck is also slightly short; the teeth grow slowly and are easily dislocated and uneven; and in terms of the body, because the limbs are relatively short, the overall appearance is relatively short; the fingers are fat and thick, and the distance between the thumb and index finger is relatively far.

4. Lower intelligence than normal people

This is also one of the most obvious characteristics of children with Down syndrome. Their IQ is generally between 20-50, and becomes gradually more obvious with age.

5. Slow development

Physical development, motor development and sexual development are slower than those of normal children. It will also be accompanied by other defects such as heart disease, leukemia, etc. The patient's body is particularly weak and relaxed.
