What changes occur in baby’s sleep after 100 days?

Sleep is very important for babies who have just come into the world, because their bodies are relatively fragile and they have not yet adapted to the environment of the outside world. Therefore, babies basically spend most of the day sleeping. After the baby reaches 100 days old, there will be some changes in his sleep. The time spent sleeping during the day will decrease, and the main sleep time will be at night. Parents need to pay close attention to this. Here we will introduce the changes in the baby's sleep after 100 days.

A 100-day-old baby sleeps 17-18 hours a day, sleeping three times during the day, each time for 2-2.5 hours, and can sleep about 10 hours at night.

Baby sleep tips:

1. Baby's sleeping position

It is best for babies to sleep on their backs, which is a safer position. Also, do not let your baby sleep on his stomach to avoid suffocation. Usually, you can let your baby lie on his stomach for a while when he is awake, which is beneficial to his development.

2. Try not to let your baby sleep between mom and dad

When the baby sleeps between mom and dad, it is easy for the baby's mouth and nose to be blocked by mom and dad's clothes, causing suffocation. If the baby is still young and mom or dad does not wake him up from sleep, the risk of suffocation will be increased.

If both mom and dad sleep facing the baby, the baby will inhale too much carbon dioxide, which will affect the baby's development. It is best to let the baby sleep against the wall or let the baby sleep alone in a crib.

3. Try not to sleep with your baby

Although letting the older baby and the younger baby sleep together can enhance the relationship between them, the older baby is still a child who doesn't know anything and can't take care of the younger baby when he sleeps. There is even a risk that the younger baby may be squeezed or suffocated by the older baby. So it is better to wait until the younger baby grows up a little before letting them sleep together.

4. Baby Crib

You should choose a crib that meets safety standards, for example the mattress should fit perfectly, without any gaps or being too large. The gap between the fences should be less than 6cm, the mattress should be of moderate hardness and thickness should generally not exceed 3cm, etc.
