How to correct a baby's crooked head?

Many unexpected situations may occur during the growth and development of infants. For example, many infants will have bone problems in the later stages of development. Among them, a tilted head is more common. This is because the infant has weak control over the head and cervical spine during development, coupled with incomplete development of the cervical spine, which can have a great negative impact on the infant's future growth. Let's take a look at how to correct a baby's tilted head?

Generally speaking, when the baby's neck is well developed when it grows to four months, the baby can support the head. If parents find that the baby's head is always tilted to one side when sleeping or feeding, they should be alert to whether the child has a "crooked neck" problem. Crooked neck is clinically called congenital muscular torticollis. If not treated in time, it will cause atrophy of the soft tissue of the neck and face on the affected side, thereby increasing the difficulty of treatment.

1. First of all, parents and friends should know that if a baby has congenital muscular torticollis, as long as it is discovered in time and correct and reasonable treatment is actively carried out, it can be cured within one year old. In normal times, we must first pay attention to helping the baby correct his daily posture. When the child's head tilts to the left, the mother should let the baby lie in a position opposite to the affected side when breastfeeding. In other words, the child should lie on the right side. When holding the baby for breastfeeding or feeding milk powder, the right side should be adopted more often. When the mother holds the baby horizontally in a sitting position, the affected side should be facing up. The baby will train his neck muscles by raising his head.

2. Massage therapy is a commonly used and effective method for treating baby's head tilt, and it is also the main treatment method. During the specific operation, the child should be prepared to lie on his back. The parents should hold up the baby's head with one hand, and use the fingers of the other hand to massage the contracted part of the baby's neck muscles with appropriate force. Each time, you can continue to massage for 10-15 minutes. After completion, you can continue to lift the sternocleidomastoid muscle on the affected side of the baby's neck and massage it continuously for 10-20 times.
