Western medicine treatment

1. Isolation Suspected and confirmed patients should be isolated. 2. Symptomatic treatment can include antipyretics, drugs to relieve nasal congestion, cough suppressants and expectorants, etc.

3. Antiviral treatment

It should be used within 48 hours of onset. Neuraminidase inhibitors can inhibit the replication of influenza viruses, reduce pathogenicity, alleviate influenza symptoms, shorten the course of the disease, and reduce complications. This type of drug has low toxicity, is not likely to cause drug resistance, and is well tolerated. It is currently one of the most promising influenza treatment drugs. Oseltamivir, the adult dose is 75 mg each time, twice a day, for 5 consecutive days. Studies have shown that it has inhibitory effects on influenza virus and avian influenza virus H5N1 and H9N2. Zanimivir, 5 mg each time, twice a day, for 5 consecutive days. This product can be used for adult patients and adolescent patients over 12 years old. After local application, the drug accumulates in the upper respiratory tract, inhibits viral replication and release, and has no systemic adverse reactions. In addition, the ion channel M2 blockers amantadine and rimantadine can inhibit the replication of avian influenza virus strains. Early application can prevent the progression of the disease, alleviate the condition, and improve the prognosis. The adult dose of amantadine is 100-200 mg per day, taken orally in 2 divided doses, for a course of 5 days. However, it has many side effects, including those on the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. The dosage should be reduced for patients with impaired renal function, and it should not be used by patients with a history of epilepsy. Long-term use of drugs can easily lead to drug resistance. The results of drug sensitivity tests show that most of the isolated avian influenza viruses (H5N1) have strong resistance to adamantane and rimantadine.

4. Supportive treatment and prevention of complications

Pay attention to rest, drink plenty of water, increase nutrition, and give easily digestible food. Maintain water and electrolyte balance. Closely observe, monitor and prevent complications. Provide respiratory support in case of respiratory failure. Use antibiotics promptly if there is a secondary bacterial infection.

Warm reminder: If your child has a cough due to an upper respiratory tract infection, further active treatment is needed. And it seems that if the patient has a symptom that he cannot open his eyes, or his eyes are completely red, he can use Lao Lian to brew boiled water to drink. You can also use cotton to dip in lotus water to wash your eyes.
