Seven-month-old baby's sleep time

Seven-month-old baby's sleep time

A seven-month-old baby is in the development period. At this time, the baby needs two things most. One is adequate nutrition, and the other is reasonable sleep time. This will ensure that the child has a healthy physique and enables him to develop and grow quickly. So, how long should a seven-month-old baby sleep? For a seven-month-old baby, it is recommended to sleep 16 to 20 hours a day, which is better for the baby's spirit and body.

1. Baby's normal sleep time

Every baby's daily sleep time is different. Generally speaking, newborn babies need to sleep about 16-20 hours a day, with similar sleep time during the day and at night. As the baby grows older, the sleep time will gradually decrease, and the sleep time at night will gradually become longer.

1. 1-3 months

The average daily sleep time is 15 hours. At 2 months old, 44% of babies can sleep for 5-6 hours at night and their daytime wakefulness time is prolonged.

2. Around 6 months old

The average daily sleep time is 14 hours. Babies in this period can sleep long at night and can sleep continuously for 6 hours.

3. Babies around 1 year old

On average, I can sleep 13-15 hours a day. I can sleep all night until dawn. I wake up for a long time during the day, but I have 2-3 fixed nap times.

2. Things to note when your baby is sleeping at each stage

1. Newborns who are a few weeks old

Instead of sleeping according to our biological clock, we need to sleep 1 to 2 hours after waking up. In addition, babies in this period can rarely stay awake for 3 consecutive hours.

No matter what the environment is like, if he can't sleep when he needs to, he will show signs of fatigue and irritability and will cry for no reason.

(ps: Pay attention at this time, as long as the baby cries, you should respond. Such a small baby will not be spoiled and should be given enough attention!)

2. Babies aged 1-4 months

There will be signs of falling asleep earlier (sometimes manifested as crying), for example, the baby used to be ready to go to bed at 21-23 o'clock, but now it may be 18-20 o'clock

The longest sleep time for babies is at night, about 3 to 5 hours (the medical definition of a full night's sleep is that the child sleeps continuously for 5 hours at night). Many studies have shown that being able to sleep through the night indicates that the baby's neurological development is mature.

It is recommended that you slowly start to cultivate your baby's "bedtime ritual" during this period, such as listening to music, taking a bath, singing, etc.

3, 4-7 months old

Babies at this stage need to nap at least twice a day. Generally speaking, as long as the baby can sleep at night, the child can sleep as long as he wants during the day. If your child has trouble falling asleep at night, be sure to wake him up earlier for his afternoon nap.

In addition, since babies undergo some large motor development during this stage, such as rolling over, sitting alone, and teething, they will make their sleep worse and even more irritable. During this period, you can give your baby more patient company.

4. Babies aged 8-12 months

Babies at this stage may encounter two types of problems. First, babies who sleep in the same bed with their parents may be more dependent on night feedings, and babies who sleep in separate beds from their parents may have increased separation anxiety from you, which will increase the number of night awakenings.

At this stage, it is recommended that mothers find ways to make their babies fall asleep comfortably as early as possible, such as giving their babies a comfort object with the smell of their mothers, gradually starting the bedtime routine before the baby is tired, etc.

5. Babies after 1 year old

Most babies will transition from 2 naps a day to 1 nap, and their sleep patterns will become more regular.

It is easy to fall asleep when you are tired. At this time, mothers can help their babies establish a good schedule and do not let their babies fall asleep at any time during the day or at night.
