Why is the tongue spotted on a child?

The tongue is a very soft tissue because it is made up almost entirely of muscle and no bones. The surface of the tongue is covered with nerve cells called taste buds. This is the basis for people to perceive the taste of sour, sweet, bitter and spicy flavors. The tongue is also a tissue with a high incidence of diseases, which can easily have a great impact on people's physical health. For example, the tongue of a child with spots is a common disease, which has a great impact on the child's health. Let's take a look at what is going on with the spots on the tongue of a child?

Geographic tongue is a chronic exfoliative glossitis that occurs in the superficial layer of the tongue mucosa. Because its lesions appear in different parts of the tongue and can change size and shape, it has the characteristics of migratory, so it is also called migratory glossitis.

The cause is not very clear, it may be related to intestinal parasites or gastrointestinal dysfunction; some people also believe that it is related to the imperfect development of the children's nervous system and mood swings; some children's parents have also suffered from geographic tongue, so there is a certain genetic tendency. Generally, geographic tongue is more common in children, especially weak infants and young children.

If you have geographic tongue, you need to pay more attention to diet and care. First of all, the appearance of geographic tongue is related to nutritional status, and sometimes it is caused by a lack of vitamins and trace elements. At this time, you should eat more fresh vegetables, fruits and protein-rich foods, such as fish, meat, eggs, beans, etc.

People with geographic tongue should not eat fried, smoked, or greasy foods, such as oil cakes, fried eggs, pancakes, and grilled lamb skewers; spicy foods, such as chili, mustard, pepper, dried ginger, lamb, dog meat, and other fatty meats should also be avoided.

For spleen and stomach yin deficiency, the symptoms will be: feeling hungry but not wanting to eat, thirsty and liking cold drinks, dry stool, night sweats, and geographic tongue. You should eat more foods that nourish yin and promote body fluid, such as millet, wheat flour and various grains, beans and bean products; eat milk, eggs, lean meat and fish, which are high in protein, rich in various trace elements, but low in fat, and are nutritious without causing internal heat; eat more fruits and vegetables, especially apples, sugarcane, bananas, hawthorn, black plums, watermelons and other fruits that contain many kinds of vitamins.
