Why do children develop eczema around their mouths?

Why do children develop eczema around their mouths?

Since the baby was born, every move of the baby has been concerning the parents all the time. For newborns, although they are healthy, they also face some practical problems, such as jaundice, eczema and so on. Especially for some careless parents who lack relevant care, such situations will definitely occur. So, what causes eczema around the mouth in children?

1. What is the reason for eczema around the baby's mouth?

There are various reasons why babies develop eczema. The main reason for eczema at the corners of the mouth in babies is that the salivary glands of babies at this stage secrete more vigorously, but the floor of the mouth is not fully developed and cannot deal with its own saliva. The saliva overflows from the corners of the mouth, repeatedly irritating the corners of the mouth and causing eczema at the corners of the mouth.

Another important reason is that the baby is allergic to the protein in breast milk or certain substances such as cow's milk, goat's milk, fish, eggs, etc. The mouth is a direct contact source, so the possibility of developing corner mouth eczema is relatively high.

2. What should I do if my baby has eczema around his mouth?

1. If it is clear that your baby has a sensitive constitution, do not buy medicine on your own. Some drugs sold in pharmacies are not approved drugs and may accidentally harm our babies if not used properly. It is recommended that you take the medication as directed by your doctor after the consultation. Of course, you can buy medication to treat eczema with your doctor's recommendation. To treat baby eczema, we often use topical medications applied to the skin.

2. We should clarify the cause of eczema and avoid contact with allergens; always help the baby clean up the overflowing saliva and keep the corners of the mouth dry. Of course, it is best to wipe it with a pure cotton towel, otherwise repeated friction of the skin will cause skin ulcers and aggravate the occurrence of eczema; our mothers must not use skin care products, soaps, etc. that are prone to allergies.

3. It is worth noting that eczema is somewhat hereditary. Therefore, if our parents have allergies, we must pay great attention to caring for our babies. Especially foods that are prone to allergies should never be eaten, and should not affect our baby's physique through breast milk.

4. The baby’s health is the greatest wish of every parent. However, the baby's health requires careful care from our parents. Therefore, it is recommended that our parents read more books about baby health and care to ensure the healthy growth of our babies.
