Symptoms of mildly mentally retarded children

I don’t know that when the baby is born, parents pay special attention to the baby’s health. As the baby grows up, parents pay more and more attention to the baby’s growth, development and education. Some parents find that their babies develop later than children of the same age when getting along with their children, so they worry that their children will have symptoms of mental retardation. So what are the symptoms of children with mild mental retardation?

In child psychology, children's age range is very long, from birth to 17 or 18 years old, and according to the characteristics of psychological development, children's psychological development is divided into: infancy (birth to 1 year old), infant period (1 to 3 years old), preschool or early childhood (3 to 6 years old), early school age (6 to 12 years old), middle school age or adolescence (12 to 15 years old), late school age or youth (15 to 18 years old).

Since the performance of mentally retarded children is not exactly the same as that of mentally retarded children, we will discuss the psychological and behavioral characteristics of mentally retarded people of different ages. People with mild mental retardation generally have no damage to their brains, but only functional impairments.

Infancy: After birth, the development of motor skills is seriously delayed. Many of these children cannot walk yet and need long-term training to walk, but their gait is not good. The language is seriously delayed and they can only use gestures and sounds (such as "hmm" and "oh"). They can communicate with others only under extremely strict training. They can learn to eat by themselves and show off (require help). They can put on and take off very simple clothes.

School age: After rigorous training, they can learn to speak a few words or very simple sentences, learn to observe hygiene habits, and have simple interactions with others. They cannot participate in labor. Some of them with more severe symptoms can go to special education schools.
