What ointment should be applied to baby eczema?

Infant eczema is very common in babies. Many mothers see their babies with eczema and they feel distressed when they see the itchy babies crying. After discovering that their babies have eczema, many parents generally choose to use drugs to treat eczema to relieve the eczema on their babies. However, most drugs for treating eczema contain hormones. The baby's skin is very delicate, and drugs containing hormones can easily irritate the baby's skin. So what kind of ointment should be applied to infant eczema?

What ointment to use for baby eczema

Many parents are afraid of using ointments containing hormones. In fact, if topical hormones are used reasonably, they will not have any adverse effects on the growth and development of infants and young children. If eczema with exudation and edema is not treated with hormones, it will not only be difficult to improve, but it will also be prone to secondary local bacterial infection, causing worsening skin damage. Therefore, when babies have eczema, they must receive local skin medication treatment. Drugs for treating eczema, in addition to hormones, also contain antibiotics, as well as moisturizing and antipruritic ingredients. In order to reduce the side effects of hormones and antibiotics, a mixed preparation of multiple ingredients is used for treatment, and at the same time, allergens are identified and eliminated in a timely manner. When you suffer from eczema, don't think you can avoid topical use of hormones and antibiotics. The earlier you use them, not only will the effect be better, but it will also reduce the total dose used.

Before using medication, first determine whether it is eczema. Different degrees of eczema use different medicines, and different parts of the body use different medicines. For milder eczema, you can use "eczema cream". For more severe eczema with redness, swelling, exudation, and thickening, an ointment containing hormones should be used, and an antibiotic ointment should also be added. It is recommended to use "cortisone" ointment plus "erythromycin" ointment or "mupirocin" ointment. For example, you can choose 0.0025% hydrocortisone plus Bactroban or erythromycin ointment and mix them in a 1:1 ratio. Because the skin is easily invaded by bacteria.

There are some precautions when using ointments.

1. Hormone ointments are generally used once or twice a day

2. The best time to use is 5-7 days, and the same part should not be used continuously for more than 2 weeks.

3. If you use more than two ointments at the same time, there should be a gap of more than half an hour between applying each ointment.

If baby eczema is not treated, it will spread quickly and become more common. Therefore, timely treatment is very important. There are many folk remedies that can cure baby eczema. Home treatments for baby eczema include:

1. Cut the potatoes into thin slices and apply them to the affected area. Several times a day.

2. Take an appropriate amount of sweet potatoes, mash them and extract the juice. Soak the sterilized gauze in the sweet potato juice and stick it on the area where eczema appears. Change the dressing once a day.

3. Sheep horn powder. If you drink the soup made with antelope horn powder, you can basically recover in about a week.

4. Cuttlefish head. Place the head of the black fish on a tile and roast it until it is charred, grind it into powder, then mix it with sesame oil and apply it to the affected area.

5. Boil Sophora flavescens in water and use it to take a bath. Just wash a few times.

6. Black soybean oil. Melt 30 ml of black bean oil and 15 g of yellow wax into a paste and apply it to the affected area.

7. Tea oil. First apply tea oil to the affected area to remove the yellow scab, then boil 100 grams of wild chrysanthemum with a little salt in water, wash the affected area, and apply Yunnan Baiyao after it dries slightly. This recipe can treat stubborn infant eczema.

8. Boil 30 grams of Toad Grass in warm water and use it for washing several times a day.

9. Tea leaves. Take an appropriate amount of tea leaves. First boil the tea leaves in water, then wash the red, swollen and ulcerated areas on the baby's skin while it is still hot, and then apply the tea leaves directly to the affected area.
