How to care for children with early pneumonia?

Children are very fragile. If parents are not careful enough and fail to take good care of their children, it can easily cause the children to get sick. Pneumonia is a very common disease in children nowadays. If pneumonia is caught in the early stages, it can be cured quickly. But during the treatment process, how should we better care for our children?

1. Ventilate frequently

Parents should open windows frequently to keep the air circulating in the ward. The room temperature should be maintained at around 20°C and the humidity at 60% to prevent the baby's respiratory secretions from becoming dry, sticky and difficult to cough out.

2. Rehydrate

Give your baby water regularly. Babies with high fever can eat some liquid food, such as milk, rice soup, soy milk, egg drop soup, vegetable soup, fruit juice, etc.; after the fever subsides, they can add semi-liquid food, such as boiled noodles, rice porridge, tofu pudding, egg custard, etc.

3. Sputum

Keep the baby's respiratory tract unobstructed and clear upper respiratory tract secretions in time; let the baby change positions and rest frequently to reduce lung congestion, facilitate the absorption of inflammation and the discharge of sputum.

4. Rest

The sick baby's room should be quiet and disturbances should be minimized; operations such as taking temperature, changing diapers, feeding medicine, etc. should be done all at once to avoid affecting the child's rest, because the child's crying and activities will aggravate the symptoms of hypoxia, increase the burden on the heart and lungs, and hinder recovery.

5. Do not cover

Babies with pneumonia should not be dressed or covered with too thick clothes or quilts. Overheating will make the baby irritable and induce asthma, aggravating breathing difficulties. If a child has a fever and sweats a lot, change his clothes in time and wipe off the sweat with a hot towel. Otherwise it will be detrimental to the child's recovery.

Therefore, parents must pay attention to daily care for their children. The child’s appetite must be very poor now, and the stomach and intestines are also in a relatively weak stage. Therefore, during this period, children should be fed soft food that is easy to digest, which can alleviate their gastrointestinal problems.
