What to do if baby eyelashes fall into eyes

What to do if baby eyelashes fall into eyes

The baby's body is delicate and needs attention and care from the mother and father. Babies have no awareness of self-protection and sometimes hurt themselves accidentally. If they are sick, they can only attract adults' attention by crying, so parents need to carefully observe where the baby is uncomfortable. Babies’ eyelashes are soft and tender. Sometimes, because babies accidentally rub their eyes, their eyelashes fall into their eyes. So what should we do?

Having a detached eyelash in the eye can be very uncomfortable, especially for a child, although the discomfort is not harmful. When removing fallen eyelashes from eyes correctly without causing any harm to eyes, the most taboo thing is to use fingers to remove eyelashes directly, which will cause greater harm to eyes.

1. Blink or cry to make your eyelashes come out

If possible, it is best to let the child remove the eyelashes from his eyes by blinking without using any other tools, as this will cause the least damage to the child's eyes. First, let the child blink continuously, preferably to get the eyelashes out of his eyes. Sometimes, closing your eyes tightly, accumulating tears, and letting the tears carry away the eyelashes is one of the more effective methods.

2. Bring out your eyelashes by lifting your eyelids

Gently lift the child's upper eyelid. In this way, the lower eyelid will be dehydrated due to being exposed to the air for too long, and will blink constantly. In this way, the fallen eyelashes are likely to be removed from the upper eyelid.

Before doing this, please be sure to wash your hands first. Our hands are usually the busiest, so they are also the most likely to carry various bacteria. If bacteria or sand enter the child's eyes, not only will the discomfort increase, but the child's eyes may become infected and become abnormally red and swollen, exacerbating the condition.

3. Use warm water to rinse away the eyelashes in your eyes

Rinse your child's eyes with slightly warm water (be sure to adjust the water temperature, just slightly warm). Place the child's eye where the eyelash has fallen under slowly running water. Usually water entering the eyes will cause people to feel strong discomfort. If the child is relatively young, he or she may move around because of the discomfort of water rushing into the eyes. At this time, the adults nearby need to stop it in time to prevent the child from rubbing his or her eyes randomly in a state of losing reason and making the situation worse. One more thing you need to do is to gently open the child's lower eyelids and let the running warm water take away the eyelashes.

4. Ask a doctor to solve it

If none of the methods mentioned above can successfully remove the eyelashes from your child's eyes, then it's time to take your child to see a doctor. Remember, never let your child rub his eyes with his hands. This will not only not help, but will also make the situation worse. The doctor may use gauze to wrap the eye where the eyelashes have fallen. Don't be nervous. This is just to avoid unnecessary friction and reduce damage to the child's eyes.

There may still be a foreign body sensation for a period of time after the eyelashes are removed, but that is just our own illusion and will naturally disappear after a while, so don't mind it.
