How to deal with baby hiccups?

Hiccups in babies are a very common phenomenon. Generally speaking, hiccups are caused by parents' improper care of their babies. The breathing method of babies is different from that of adults. Babies mainly breathe abdominally. When babies are feeding too fast, too much cold air will be introduced. Stimulated by the cold air, the baby will make a sound like hiccups. There are some ways to deal with baby hiccups:

1. Method 1

A relatively quick way to treat baby hiccups is to pick up the baby, pat his back, feed him some warm water, and then stimulate the soles of his feet with your hands (you can pinch them lightly, not too hard) to make him cry and stop the sudden contraction of the diaphragm. After the baby cries a few times, the hiccups will disappear naturally.

2. Method 2

If you smell an undigested sour odor when your baby burps, it means that your baby's digestion is not good, which is why hiccups are easily caused. You can gently massage the baby's abdomen or drink hawthorn water to help digest food, strengthen the stomach and promote ventilation. Once the baby's digestion is normal and the body is ventilated, the hiccups will stop naturally.

3. Method 3

If the baby just has mild hiccups, you can use your fingertips to gently tickle his lips or ears. The nerves near the lips are more sensitive, and tickling can relax the nerves, and the hiccups will disappear. Be careful not to use nails that are too long when tickling to avoid scratching the baby's delicate skin.

Notice

If the baby suddenly hiccups without any other illness, there is generally no need to treat it. Usually the hiccups will stop on their own after a while, unless the attack lasts for a long time, lasting 5 to 10 minutes, then you should pay attention.
