Is it better for girls to develop early or late?

In recent years, precocious puberty and early development have been issues of concern to most parents. In daily life, many parents believe that it is better for children to develop early, while some parents believe that it is better for children to develop late. In fact, children's development too early or too late is not good for their health, especially for girls. Because each child's physical condition is different, some girls develop earlier and some girls develop later.

Is it better for girls to develop early or late?

It's not good to be too early or too late. There are three types of normal developmental periods for girls. The early developing type occurs between eight and a half and ten years old. The middle-developing type occurs between the ages of ten and twelve, while the late-developing type occurs between the ages of twelve and fifteen. Everything is normal within this range.

Signs of sexual maturity: Breasts gradually develop. Girls will first notice that their nipples are developing more prominently. From the age of 13 to 17, girls' mammary glands develop, and the fat and blood vessels increase, causing the entire breast to bulge. This change can be seen from the appearance. At the same time, the brown areola around the nipple gradually expands and the breasts fully develop. About 80% of girls do not reach adult breast development until they are 16 to 19 years old.

breast

Before puberty, there is no difference in appearance between boys' and girls' breasts. Starting at age 7 or 8, girls' body systems begin to develop. About 2 years later, breasts begin to develop under the combined action of ovarian hormones, pituitary hormones and insulin.

The age of breast development also varies from person to person, with an average of 10.8 to 11.4 years old. If breasts have not developed after the age of 16, you should be alert to whether it is delayed sexual development or ovarian hypoplasia. Girls' breast development usually begins when their nipples begin to grow, around the age of 9 to 10 years old. Initially, it is breast hyperplasia, forming a breast nucleus, which feels like a nodule or a small lump and is painful when pressed.

Between the ages of twelve and thirteen, the mammary ducts and subcutaneous fat gradually increase, the breasts gradually swell, and the color of the nipples and areolas gradually darkens.

Bra Selection

When girls reach the age of 16 to 18, their chest and breasts are almost mature. Use a soft tape measure to measure from the upper bottom of the breast through the nipple to the lower bottom of the breast. If the upper and lower distance is greater than 16cm, they should wear a bra.

The bra size should be moderate. If it is too small, it will compress the breasts and nipples, affecting breathing and the development of the chest and breasts. If the bra is too large, it will not be able to support and protect the breasts. Bras should be removed when sleeping to avoid affecting breathing and blood circulation.

The dangers of early development in girls

(1) Affects later height growth

Although early development in girls may make them look taller than girls of the same age, and some parents may even be complacent about it, in fact, if the early development is caused by precocious puberty, it may lead to abnormal secretion of sex hormones, which in turn will cause premature bone fusion. After premature bone closure, it will be difficult for them to grow and develop again. When they reach adulthood, they will find that they are much shorter than other people of the same age.

(2) Impact on mental health

Girls who develop early will appear out of tune with their peers. Once they are excluded by other peers because of this, it will cause great psychological trauma to them. They may even develop inferiority complex and become withdrawn. They will isolate themselves and not communicate with others, which will greatly affect their mental health.

(3) Leading to premature sexual behavior

Because the physical and psychological development of girls with precocious puberty are extremely mismatched, and their social experience is very shallow and their self-control is poor, they may give themselves up if they are slightly coaxed, which may lead to a series of risks and damages such as unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. This is an unbearable "nightmare" for the girls themselves and even the entire family.
