Is chickenpox contagious?

Chickenpox is caused by infection with the varicella-zoster virus, which is highly contagious. It is usually contagious from the beginning of the disease to the scab formation, and can be transmitted through droplets and contact. So after getting chickenpox I couldn't go to school or work.

Is chickenpox serious?

Most cases of chickenpox are self-limiting and can usually be cured in about two weeks. Chickenpox does not leave any sequelae such as scars. However, some people may also develop varicella encephalitis, varicella pneumonia, etc. If a pregnant woman who is due to give birth gets varicella, it may cause serious syndromes in the baby. Therefore, if you have chickenpox, don’t worry too much, but at the same time, don’t take it lightly and seek timely treatment.

Treatment of chickenpox

It is not difficult to treat chickenpox. Usually, taking some Chinese medicine for clearing away heat and detoxifying for a week will show good results. However, hemorrhagic varicella and bullous varicella require hospitalization. Chickenpox patients are prohibited from being treated with hormone drugs, but antiviral drugs can be taken in the early stages.
