Is it autism if a child is not sociable?

Nowadays, many children are unwilling to communicate with other children. Many parents begin to worry whether their children are suffering from autism. In fact, the difference between autistic children and normal children can be seen in their appearance. If a child is not sociable, it is most likely the parents' fault, so we cannot just blame the child. Then, does a child's lack of sociability mean he or she is autistic?

1. Language and communication disorders are important symptoms of autism and the main reason why most children seek medical treatment. Language and communication disorders can manifest in many forms. Most children with autism have delayed or impaired language development. They usually still cannot speak at the ages of two and three, or they experience language regression after normal language development. They have expressive language before the age of 2 to 3 years, which gradually decreases with age or is even lost completely. They remain silent for life or, in rare cases, use limited language. They have some degree of obstacles in their perception and expression of language.

2. Parents should make time to be close to their children and spend a certain amount of time talking with their children every day. Take your children to the park or to the homes of relatives and friends during holidays, and actively create conditions for your children to play with their friends. At the beginning, parents can accompany their children and play games with them. When they are familiar with the game, they can let them play by themselves. After each game, parents should praise their children exaggeratedly for playing well and having fun, so that children can feel the cuteness of their friends and the joy of the group while having fun.

3. Parents should consciously cultivate their children's cooperation ability. Parents can give their children some tasks that are difficult for them to complete alone, and encourage them to cooperate with others to complete them, or ask their parents for help to complete them, so as to increase their opportunities to interact with others. Teach children to understand that one person’s power is limited, some things cannot be done, but things will be easier if everyone works together.
