Mom, do you know the symptoms of chronic enteritis in children?

Chronic enteritis is very harmful to children and will affect their growth and development. Children with chronic enteritis often have symptoms of indigestion and abdominal pain, especially when the weather is cold, the symptoms will be aggravated. It is important to take good care of the children at ordinary times.

1. Symptoms of chronic enteritis in children

The symptoms of chronic gastritis in children are non-specific. Most of them have varying degrees of indigestion symptoms. The severity of the clinical manifestations is not consistent with the degree of gastric mucosal lesions, and the course of the disease is prolonged. The main symptom is recurrent abdominal pain with no obvious regularity, which usually worsens after eating. The location of pain is not specific, mostly around the navel.

Young children may only experience abdominal pain with restlessness and changes in normal eating behavior, while older children may have symptoms similar to those of adults, often complaining of upper abdominal pain, followed by belching, early satiety, nausea, upper abdominal discomfort, and heartburn. Eating hard, cold, spicy foods or catching a cold or when the temperature drops may trigger or aggravate symptoms. Some children may experience loss of appetite, fatigue, weight loss and dizziness, and those with gastric erosion may have black stools.

The physical signs are mostly not obvious, and the tenderness may be located in the upper and middle abdomen or around the navel, covering a wide range.

2. Precautions for children with enteritis

Pay attention to the safety and cleanliness of children's eating utensils. Avoid taking children to public places to isolate patients and handle their excrement carefully. Pay attention to household hygiene, install screens on windows, kill flies and cockroaches, and keep the environment clean. Avoid eating raw, cold and unclean things. Personal hygiene and hygiene education, especially for those who take care of children, should wash their hands frequently, including after changing diapers for children; they should also wash their hands after contact with children's secretions to avoid infecting children with bacteria.

The clinical manifestations of pediatric enteritis have been described in detail above. In fact, because children are very young, they do not pay much attention to their personal dietary health. As parents, we must pay close attention to this aspect. They must eat healthy and nutritious food to ensure that children will not develop enteritis.
