How long can autistic children live? Parents must read

There are many autistic children in China, and how long these children can live is a matter of great concern to their parents. Autistic children are generally more common in males, and the disease mainly develops in infancy. Its manifestations include varying degrees of speech development disorders, narrow interests, interpersonal communication disorders and different behavioral patterns. A small number of patients also have obvious mental retardation. Let’s take a look at how old autistic children can live.

First, when autistic children reach adolescence, 30% may suffer from epileptic seizures, so prevention should be carried out early.

Second, when autistic children reach the age of 13-14, there will be differentiation in their behavioral abnormalities: some of the autistic symptoms will be alleviated to a certain extent, and the symptoms of a very small number of people will disappear to a large extent; in foreign countries, severely autistic patients will spend their entire lives in welfare institutions; mildly autistic patients will be employed in welfare workshops and engage in moderate labor.

Third, the average life expectancy of patients with autism. Generally speaking, their life span is no shorter than that of people with other disabilities. Especially severe patients will live in special welfare facilities; mild and moderate patients can generally engage in work such as craftsmanship, carpentry, art, agriculture, gardening, horticulture, breeding, etc. (but cannot engage in public relations, sales, etc.); some patients with high IQ become artists, sculptors or performers who do not communicate with others.

Fourth, the love situation of people with autism is still unclear. There are very few autistic people married in the world, and the issue also involves the question of whether one person in the marriage is autistic or both people are autistic. In extreme cases, if both parties in a marriage are autistic, how they maintain their daily lives becomes a major problem. Generally speaking, if autistic people are able to get married, and one of the spouses is a normal person and the other is an autistic person, then the quality of life of the man who is autistic and the woman who is a normal person is better than the man who is a normal person and the woman who is autistic.
