How to deal with children with high fever convulsions and how to care for them?

Parents should be alert when their children have high fever convulsions and should cool their children down in time. The main thing is to open the windows of the room. You can also use a cold wet towel to apply cold compresses to the child. If the child shows symptoms of convulsions, the child's clothes should be unbuttoned, otherwise it will easily affect the child's breathing.

Young children are in the stage of physical development, their body temperature regulation center is not yet fully developed, and their body's heat dissipation is poor, so they are prone to unexplained fever. If the fever is mild and has little impact on the child's mental state, parents do not need to make a fuss. However, if it is a high fever, with the body temperature above 40℃, it can easily cause excessive excitement of the child's cerebral cortex, triggering systemic or local muscle spasms or convulsions, which is called childhood convulsions.

First, cool the child down . If parents find their children showing symptoms of convulsions, they should open the windows of the room in time to keep the room ventilated and the air fresh. If the child sweats a lot, you can use a towel to dry the body and change into a set of close-fitting clothes. Drinking more boiled water or fruit juice can help lower your body temperature.

Next, apply cold compresses . Parents can use cold, wet towels to place on the child's fossa, groin, popliteal fossa (behind the knee joint), etc., and change them every 3-5 minutes. These areas are rich in blood vessels and close to the body surface, making it easy to dissipate heat.

Third, use warm water to sponge bath . Parents can put their children in warm water at about 32-34℃, soak them for 10-15 minutes, and then wrap them with a towel and dry them.

Fourth, take oral antipyretics . If the child still has a high fever after taking the above-mentioned physical cooling measures, parents can give the child an appropriate amount of antipyretic drugs, such as aben tablets.

Fifth, how to deal with convulsions . When a child has a convulsion, parents should unbutton the child's clothes in time to avoid affecting his or her breathing. Use clean gauze or handkerchief and place it between the upper and lower teeth to prevent biting the tongue. But don't stuff it in too hard or fill your mouth too full to avoid suffocation or obstruction of breathing. Let your child's head tilt to one side to keep the airway open and facilitate the discharge of vomit. Press the philtrum with your fingers to wake the child up. If the body temperature is above 39°C, cooling measures can be taken.

In short, high fever convulsions in children are very dangerous. Parents should take measures to reduce fever, deal with convulsions in a timely manner, and send the children to the hospital for treatment in time.
