How to protect children's teeth

Teeth are important chewing organs of the body. Once there is a problem with the teeth, it will inevitably bring a series of impacts. We all know that children's teeth develop in different stages. Since they are not yet formed, if we do not pay attention to protecting them, it is easy for children's teeth to be damaged, which may seriously affect their diet. So, how should children protect their teeth? Let’s take a closer look below.

During the period of deciduous teeth, parents need to help children clean their mouths and urge them to develop good hygiene habits. Children love to eat milk candy, chocolate, biscuits, cakes, etc. Control young children from eating too much candy and sweets. These foods easily adhere to the tooth surface, ferment and produce acid, which can easily cause tooth decay. Teach your children to brush their teeth in the morning and evening, rinse their mouths after meals, and correct their bad habits of eating snacks before going to bed.

When children are able to brush their teeth by themselves, parents should teach them the correct way to brush their teeth. Otherwise, not only will it fail to effectively clean the mouth and prevent dental diseases, it may sometimes damage the teeth and directly cause dental diseases. For example, the horizontal brushing method will result in a "saw-shaped defect" on the neck of the tooth, which is called a wedge-shaped defect in dentistry. It will cause pain when exposed to cold, heat, sour, or sweet food, and will damage the pulp over time.

At the same time, in terms of diet, children should be given more natural foods every day, such as milk, eggs, colored vegetables, grains and fruits rich in crude fiber, seafood, animals and plants, etc. Fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. Regularly eating rough and fiber-rich foods can enhance chewing activities, increase saliva secretion, reduce residual food in the grooves of teeth, deprive fungi of the breeding environment, and keep the tooth surface clean.

How should children protect their teeth? Parents need to check their children's teeth regularly. If they find that their teeth have become black or have small holes, they should see a doctor so that early detection and treatment can be carried out. To prevent caries from developing into pulp disease or periapical periodontitis, do not wait until your child complains of pain before checking. Once your child complains of toothache, it is probably too late.

I think everyone should be clear about how children should protect their teeth. There is nothing that can be done about the child’s weak body resistance and inability to adapt to the environment well. In daily life, it is very important to take good methods to protect children's teeth. The protection can be achieved through these aspects, and the effect is very good.
