Symptoms of acute pharyngitis in babies

Babies with weak constitutions are bound to suffer from some diseases. In addition to colds and fevers, the most common ones are acute pharyngitis. They will not express the discomfort they feel due to acute pharyngitis, so parents need to judge whether the baby has acute pharyngitis by some phenomena. Generally speaking, children with acute pharyngitis will feel pain in their throats, resulting in symptoms of not wanting to eat, but this symptom is very similar to the symptoms of other diseases, so the following is a detailed introduction to the symptoms of acute pharyngitis.

Symptoms of pharyngitis:

1. Pay attention to the child's cough: When pharyngitis occurs, there will be hoarseness and dry cough. When coughing, a "kong-kong-kong" sound is made, like a dog barking.

2. Dyspnea: If the disease progresses further, the nostrils will flare and the sternum will rise during inhalation, resulting in poor inhalation accompanied by laryngeal sounds. Gradually worsening, significant inhalation dyspnea may occur.

3. Mild to moderate fever and three-depression syndrome: Most children may have fever to varying degrees, but high fever is rare, and most have mild to moderate fever. Physical examination may reveal cyanosis of the complexion and three depressions (i.e., significant depressions in the supraclavicular fossa, suprasternal fossa and upper abdomen during inhalation), which are particularly severe at night.

4. Babies with acute pharyngitis should pay attention to rest, drink plenty of water, and keep bowel movements open. If sore throat affects the patient's ability to eat, intravenous fluids and nutritional supplements should be given. For those with severe sore throat or high body temperature, APC can be taken orally, 0.5 grams each time, or intramuscular injection of Antongding, Chaihu injection, etc.

If parents or other family members find that their baby has the above symptoms, it is possible that the baby has pharyngitis. After discovering the symptoms, the baby should be treated promptly. The baby can take appropriate anti-inflammatory drugs, or go to the hospital to see a doctor, so that the baby's pharyngitis can receive the most timely and effective treatment. During treatment, you can give your child more liquid food to supplement nutrition.
