Nowadays, many children who have precocious puberty suffer from pseudo-precocious puberty. This kind of pseudo-precocious puberty looks very similar to true precocious puberty, so many parents will confuse their children's condition. In this case, they can only go to the hospital for formal examinations. Only in this way can they thoroughly determine whether their children have true precocious puberty or pseudo-precocious puberty. If it is pseudo-precocious puberty, it will be easier to treat than true precocious puberty because at this time their children do not have the reproductive capacity of adults. (1) True precocious puberty refers to the fact that boys with the disease will have enlarged penis, growth of beard hair, deepening of voice, erection of penis, production of sperm, and fertility. Similarly, girls with the disease will have enlarged breasts, growth of armpit and pubic hair, menstruation, and the production of eggs to conceive. The cause is still unclear, but it is generally believed to be related to mutations in testicular or ovarian function caused by genetic factors, neurological diseases, or certain tumors. (2) Pseudo-precocious puberty: From the outside, this condition is similar to true precocious puberty, but the testicles cannot produce sperm and the ovaries cannot produce eggs, so the child is infertile. The cause of development is relatively clear, that is, the adrenal glands may have tissue hyperplasia or tumors, causing excessive secretion of sex hormones; the testicles or ovaries themselves have tumors, cysts and other diseases, causing the production of sex hormones to be premature and excessive. (3) Incomplete precocious puberty is manifested by simple breast enlargement or simple premature appearance of pubic hair, that is, among the various external sexual characteristics, only one or two sexual characteristics appear prematurely. The causes of the disease are similar to the above two categories, but the difference is in the degree of symptom manifestation. The early onset of precocious puberty is certainly not normal puberty development, so it is pathological and should be treated as soon as possible. The principle of treatment is: for true precocious puberty, if no disease is found, generally no special treatment is required. After puberty, the problem of precocious puberty will be a thing of the past and will no longer exist. At most, some people will have short stature and other conditions, which will not affect their health. If nerve or tumor lesions are found, appropriate medicine should be used and treatment should be provided promptly. It is worth noting that precocious puberty can occur in children who are still young and ignorant, so preventing unexpected events and preventing accidental pregnancies is an issue that both society and parents should pay attention to. If a child has menstruation, it can be stopped with drugs such as progesterone acetate or chlormadinone acetate. For pseudo- and incomplete precocious puberty, if no precipitating disease is found, it does not matter whether it is treated or not. It must be pointed out that the average age of puberty among Chinese teenagers is 13 to 15 years old. Some people appear slightly one or two years earlier, which cannot be considered as precocious puberty. Most cases of precocious puberty occur in children under 10 years old, or even in children aged 5 to 6 years old or younger. Therefore, after understanding the symptoms of precocious puberty in children, parents should pay attention to observe whether their children have such symptoms in life. If such symptoms occur, they should not delay the disease at home. Generally speaking, the development age of children is around 13 years old. If development has occurred before the age of 13, it is precocious puberty. Some children even have precocious puberty at a younger age. |
