What is the importance of breakfast for children?

Children are in a critical stage of growth and development, so it is very important to eat breakfast every day. Breakfast contains many factors that can promote bone growth, which can effectively help our children grow healthily and strong, and reduce some problems of short stature caused by malnutrition. Many people also want to know more about the importance of breakfast to children, so let me introduce it to you.

Breakfast is important. The saying "eat well in the morning, eat full in the afternoon, and eat less in the evening" has certain scientific truth to it. From a nutritional point of view, the most scientific dietary ratio for breakfast, lunch and dinner is 30%, 40% and 30%. All kinds of food should be distributed to the three meals according to the proportion. However, due to the tight morning time and the influence of long-term living habits, it is not easy to meet the above conditions. Nevertheless, for the sake of health, you should still pay attention to arranging a good breakfast. There are several foods that are best to eat:

1. A cup of milk, 250 ml is appropriate for adults. The average daily calcium intake of Chinese people is only 391 mg, less than half of the 800 mg recommended by the Chinese Nutrition Society. Milk is a good calcium supplement. A cup of milk can supplement about 270 mg of calcium and is easier to absorb than ordinary calcium supplements.

2. An egg. Eggs are rich in nutrients, and the amount of essential amino acids contained in their protein is closest to the proportion required by the human body. It should be noted that: (1) Since egg yolks contain a high amount of cholesterol, patients with dyslipidemia should eat less eggs; (2) Some patients should not eat eggs; (3) Do not eat too much. Even for healthy people, one egg a day is fine.

3. An apple should weigh about 3 taels, but other fruits can also be used instead. Fruits mainly provide water-soluble vitamins and dietary fiber, supplementing the insufficient intake of breakfast.

4. Eat a moderate amount of sugar, which can be bread, steamed buns or other complex carbohydrates, but try not to eat or eat less simple sugar as a sweetener. Carbohydrates mainly provide the heat energy needed in the morning and also have the effect of saving protein.

There are many reasons why breakfast is important to children. It can effectively supplement the nutritional needs of our body for normal growth and plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the normal growth and development of our children. We mothers must also carefully prepare breakfast for our children to protect their growth.
